Lions RB Tra Carson (hamstring) was added to the injury report Thursday after taking limited practice reps. This looks like a midweek downgrade. If he's out, Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic would likely form a two-man committee against the Raiders.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) missed practice again Thursday. Conner is tentatively expected to play, though his Friday participation will be key. If he's out, Jaylen Samuels would become a high-end RB2.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Jacobs should be fine for a great matchup against the Lions.

Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) missed practice again Thursday. Peterson remained sidelined, but he played through the injury last week (on a short week) and should be able to play in Week 9. If he can't, Wendell Smallwood would likely serve as the team's RB1 against the Bills.

Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels (knee) took full practice reps again Thursday. Samuels should return and back up James Conner, if Conner can play. If Conner's out, it appears that Samuels is in line for a big workload.

This should correct itself in Week 9 against a Jaguars defense that has yielded the fifth-most 40+ yard receptions and the seventh-most 20+ receptions.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Thielen is expected back, but he's not out of the woods yet. Stay tuned.

Whoever is the No. 2 will have some RB3/flex value with big upside given the potency of the San Francisco running game.

He's pushing to play, but if the Saints hold him out another game, he'll have two full weeks to heal and get ready for Week 10 since the Saints have a Week 9 bye. If Brees plays, he should post good numbers since the game is at home. In eight home games since last season, Brees has averaged 328 yards and 2.88 touchdowns per game.
