After a QB1 finish in 2022–his first season WITHOUT Tyreek Hill–Patrick Mahomes had a disappointing QB7 finish last year. It was actually a bit worse than that as he had just the 14th-highest per-game average at his position. Obviously, the Chiefs went on to win their second consecutive Super Bowl, but his fantasy managers probably felt a bit jilted as Mahomes posted four-year lows in passing yards, touchdowns, and rushing touchdowns. It remains to be seen if this is a blip in his career or the start of a trend, but the Chiefs did try to shore up the receiving corps, replacing Marquez Valdes-Scantling with the productive Hollywood Brown and the speedy Xavier Worthy. Rashee Rice is facing some offseason trouble, but the Chiefs now have appealing depth in the receiver room. Mahomes should bounce back with a top-five season.

Chiefs to sign WR Marquise Brown to one-year deal

Cardinals WR Hollywood Brown is signing with the Chiefs, another high-octane target for Patrick Mahomes. One of the most talented WRs available, Brown lands in a perfect spot on a 1-year deal worth up to $11M with a chance to cash in next year.

Fantasy Impact:

The first addition for the Chiefs WR room has finally come, in the form of Brown. This is unlikely to be the last piece they add, but the immediate impact is bad news for Skyy Moore and Justin Watson, who technically hold the outside roles as it stands prior to the signing.
Hollywood set a new career high by lining up out wide on 79.8% of his snaps last season, and should offer big-play potential in fantasy. His exact value is going to depend on who else the team targets over the next two months.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Chiefs offense struggled last week, but Patrick Mahomes salvaged a poor day with a nice late-game drive that resulted in a score. Mahomes finished the day with 235 pass yards, one touchdown and an interception. He also added a season-high 53 yards on the ground. Mahomes hasn't fully looked like himself lately. In his last four games, he's averaging 255.3 pass yards with a 5-5 TD-INT ratio. But this week he draws a favorable matchup against the Bengals (24th aFPA) in what should be a bounce back game. Over the past four weeks, the Bengals have given up the 6th-most average fantasy points to QBs. Mahomes should still be viewed as a top five option at QB in Week 17.
