Mohamed Sanu’s stay on the New England Patriots’ physically unable to perform list was short-lived. The Patriots wide receiver was removed from active/PUP on Tuesday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.
Sanu had offseason ankle surgery but had been spotted working out with Patriots quarterbacks this offseason, the story said.
Jefferson spent roughly one week on the COVID list after either testing positive for the virus or having contact with someone who did before reporting to the Vikings. With the situation behind him, the rookie first-rounder can focus on locking down the No. 2 wide receiver spot behind veteran Adam Thielen.
In a statement released by the team, the Lions insisted that Stafford never had COVID-19 — disputing an earlier report from MMQB’s Albert Breer — and that his test was a false-positive result. Stafford’s next step is to report for a physical and then he can begin the team’s strength and conditioning program.
