2025 Draft note
Mixon turned in a strong 2024 campaign, finishing as the fantasy RB13 despite a few missed games—he was RB5 on a per-game basis. Now heading into his age-29 season, he enters the danger zone where running backs often start to decline, and the Texans may be preparing for that possibility. Mixon has missed all offseason with an undisclosed foot injury and I’ve heard from a couple of sources that I trust that his 2025 season is in serious doubt. The team has been less apocalyptic about his recovery and continue to say that they hope to have him back early in the season. He’s on my “do not draft” list and I would only consider him very late in redraft formats where it’s easy to move on if it turns out that he doesn’t play this season.
