2025 Draft note
The Texans backfield is seemingly up for grabs with Joe Mixon out indefinitely with a non-football foot injury, Nick Chubb has drawn mixed reviews in camp, though seems to be trending up. Dameon Pierce is also in the fold. The hot name is rookie Woody Marks, a versatile back who could sneak into a large role if things break the right way around him. He had the 20th-highest rush grade (per PFF) in this year’s draft class and caught 47 passes as a senior at USC. For what it’s worth, the Texans are still hoping to have Mixon back for Week 1, per Aaron Wilson.
