Raheem Mostert was basically a “league-winner” last season as he absolutely crushed his RB41 ADP by finishing as the fantasy RB3. After gaining 1,093 total yards and scoring five total touchdowns for the Dolphins in 2022, Mostert posted 1,187 total yards and scored an eye-popping 21 touchdowns last year. So why is he the RB26 off the board in early drafts? For one, he has the extremely talented De’Von Achane nipping at his heels. The other factor is that he’s no spring chicken at 32 years old, and the production drop off comes for everyone. Still, RB26 seems too low for a player who just finished in the top five and is in basically the same situation. In Mostert’s last four games with Achane, he averaged 15.8 touches for 61 yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game.

The Dolphins’ injury report remained the same Tuesday as it was estimated Monday. That’s not good news for the running back position.

Running backs De’Von Achane (ankle) and Raheem Mostert (chest) did not participate. Wide receiver Malik Washington (quad) also was a non-participant.

Fantasy Impact:

As the story pointed out, neither Achane nor Mostert left the game with their injuries, though the Dolphins gave Jeff Wilson Jr. five rushing attempts in the fourth quarter with Achane getting four and Mostert two. Achane played 37 total snaps and Mostert 31 in the victory over the Jaguars. On a short week, this will need to be monitored leading up to Thursday night.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Coming off a season with 21 touchdowns (18 on the ground, 3 receiving) we certainly expect some touchdown regression for Raheem Mostert, but he's still, at worst, the 1B to De'Von Achane and the presumed goal-line back in one of the best offenses in football.

While Mostert will have more appeal in standard or half-PPR formats, he's not a total dud in PPR. With the goal line role in a game with a total at 49 and a team total north of 26 points, they are in one of the best offensive environments on the weekend. Mostert is a solid RB2 play for Week 1.
