Williams was the No. 45 receiver last season. He had the eighth-highest average depth of target (15.7) on targets from Justin Herbert, which was actually down from the 18.3 that he posted the year before. New OC Joe Lombardi said that Williams will play the “X” receiver spot in his offense, which is where Michael Thomas played while Lombardi was in New Orleans. Lombardi said that he would “bet on nice numbers” from Williams in 2021. Keenan Allen is a superior receiver–and Williams is no Michael Thomas–so it’s hard to believe that Lombardi would force targets to the less efficient Williams, though that seems to be what Lombardi is saying. Williams ADP is creeping into the seventh round, which seems a little pricey given his recent track record. His positional ADP (WR40) is reasonable.
