Washington Football Team tight end Logan Thomas faces a longer recovery after further tests revealed a torn ACL, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Thomas is expected to undergo surgery this week and be ready for the start of the 2022 season.
Washington was hoping to get Thomas back if it made the playoffs but that won't be the case as Thomas is now on the IR for the second time this season. Thomas had signed a three-year extension worth up to $24.065 million in August. He caught a career-high 72 passes for 670 yards and six touchdowns in 2020 and became one of the NFL's best red zone targets at tight end.
WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 13 at Las Vegas Raiders
Logan Thomas returned from injury last week, his first appearance since exiting in Week 4. He played OK, finishing 3-31 on six targets. He nearly had a touchdown, but it was called back. He appeared somewhat limited, playing on 79% of the offensive snaps after playing 100% of the snaps in the first three games of the season. He gets a favorable matchup against the Raiders this week. Las Vegas has been tough on wide receivers this year, but has allowed the 2nd-most average fantasy points to tight ends. We like Thomas as a lower-end TE1 in Week 13.
