Detroit Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell said Monday the team will likely take the decision to the end of the week whether to play starting quarterback Matthew Stafford after he injured his ribs in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
When asked if Stafford had broken any ribs, Bevell said X-rays came back negative, but he did not have more information on the extent of his injury. While the Lions figure out their quarterback situation, Bevell said backups Daniel and Blough will take more reps this week in practice while Stafford tries to heal.
DET QB David Blough - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 17 vs. Green Bay Packers
In the loss at Denver last Sunday, David Blough completed only 50% of his 24 attempts for 117 yards and a TD. While it was his first game without an interception, he was sacked four times. The rookie has thrown for over 250 yards every other start so this would be his week to post better numbers. In mid-October at Green Bay, Matthew Stafford passed for 265 yards, but Blough should only be started if you’re desperate.
