Michel, who had nine carries for 117 yards in a Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, had been limited in practice all last week. As the story said, the absence of Michel comes at the same time fellow running back Damien Harris is eligible to return to the game-day roster after having opened the season on injured reserve because of a hand injury. Harris, a 2019 third-round pick from Alabama, began practicing on Wednesday. Harris has been a popular stash in the fantasy world but his workload is a bit of a question. However, with Cam Newton out as well, it could be a run-heavy approach for the Patriots against the Chiefs.
NE RB Damien Harris - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 7 vs. San Francisco 49ers
It was a rough week for anyone who took Harris's 17 carries in Week 4 as a sign of things to come, as he crashed back to earth with only six carries for 19 yards and a single reception in Week 6. Harris's story has played out numerous times in New England under Bill Belichick, with usage of the different members of his backfield varying widely from week to week. Harris looks like the best bet for early-down carries on the Patriots, at least until Sony Michel comes back, but that role does not lead to consistent fantasy production with Cam Newton taking goal-line carries. Harris is not a recommended start in Week 7 as his workload is not guaranteed and he will be facing off with San Francisco's tough run defense.
