In 29 career starts, Mayfield has averaged 254 yards, 1.7 touchdowns and 1.2 interceptions. He only adds 9.4 rushing yards per game, so he’s mainly a pocket passer. The resulting 15.7 points per game would have been the 18th-highest per game average last season. He’s playing for a new head coach, Kevin Stefanski, who was extremely run-heavy in calling plays for the Vikings, but Kirk Cousins was very productive on a per attempt basis, fantasy-wise. The Browns went out and signed pass-catcher Austin Hooper which could be viewed as an indication that Stefanski may open things up now that he’s not trying to please the defensive-minded Mike Zimmer in Minnesota. The Browns also signed T Jack Conklin, drafted T Jedrick Wills and traded for FB Andy Janovich, which signal a run-heavy offense.
