49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 17. Jeff Wilson should see a sizable workload against the Rams.

Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) returned to take limited reps Friday after missing practice earlier in the week. It looks like he will play in Week 17 after looking iffy for most of the week. This throws cold water on Brian Hill’s Sneaky Start status.

Steelers RB James Conner (ankle, questionable) took full practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 17. The full practices indicate that he’s on track to play this week. He will likely return to a lead back role but won’t necessarily see the same type of workload that he saw before the injury. Jaylen Samuels is capable of producing in a change-of-pace role.

Rams RB Justin Davis (shoulder, questionable) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 17. He could have a larger role this week, but C.J. Anderson is the Rams’ RB to play this week.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (neck) took full practice reps all week. He’s expected to return this week.

Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle, foot, doubtful) missed practice again Friday and is doubtful for Week 17. Carlos Hyde (knee, questionable) was limited Friday after taking full reps earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 17. T.J. Yeldon and David Williams could split the work with Fournette likely out and Hyde iffy.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 17. C.J. Anderson is a strong play against the 49ers.

Vikings RB C.J. Ham (elbow, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 17.

Bills RB Chris Ivory (shoulder, questionable) took full practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 17.

Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) was removed from the injury report Friday. Royce Freeman should get most of the carries though Devontae Booker may see most of Lindsay’s passing game role.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (not injury related) took full practice reps again Friday. There are whispers that the Panthers may limit McCaffrey’s workload in a meaningless game against the Saints. Cameron Artis-Payne is the next man up.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) took full practice reps again Friday. He’s expected to return to a big workload after Alfred Blue and Donta Foreman’s struggles last week.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (knee, questionable) took full practice reps again Thursday and is questionable for Week 17. If Penny returns, it puts a small dent in Chris Carson’s upside this week. In the four games that Penny has missed, Carson has averaged 25.5 touches compared to just 16.1 touches in the nine games in which Penny has played.

Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (shoulder) took full practice reps again Friday.

Raiders RB Jalen Richard (ankle) took full practice reps again Friday.

Raiders RB Keith Smith (calf) took full practice reps all week.

Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring, questionable) took full practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 17. Damien Williams is still a strong play even with Ware’s return. Ware did not have a stranglehold on the RB1 job when he was injured, and Williams played his way into a two-year extension worth up to $8 million. It appears that the Chiefs consider Williams to be starter material.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams (hamstring, questionable) took full practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 17.

Packers WR Davante Adams (knee, questionable) missed practice all week and is questionable for Week 17. Adams is attempting to break a couple of Packer receiving records but looks very iffy with the knee injury.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hip) took full practice reps all week.

Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) took full practice reps again Friday.

Jets WR Robby Anderson (ankle) took full practice reps all week.

Cowboys WR Tavon Austin (groin) took full practice reps all week.

Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) took full practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. The just-officially-eliminated Packers have given up passing yards to the three competent quarterbacks they’ve faced in the last four weeks. Mitch Trubisky (235/2), Matt Ryan (262/2) and Kirk Cousins (342/3) all went over the 19.0-mark in fantasy points. Meanwhile, Darnold is coming off of 253/2 against the Texans, and he has at least 18.0 fantasy points in three of his last four home games. Throw in a budding rapport with Robby Anderson, and we have the makings of a solid fantasy outing.

Panthers QB Cam Newton (right shoulder, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 16. The Panthers have decided to shut Newton down for the season. Taylor Heinicke will draw the start, but the Old Dominion product is largely an unknown from an NFL standpoint. In the preseason, he completed 24 of 36 passes for 323 yards (9.0 YPA) and two touchdowns against one interception. He also rushed five times for 23 yards and a score. That 7.2 pass-to-rush ratio would fall between Jameis Winston (6.9) and Blake Bortles (7.4) this year, so Heinicke can add points with his legs. He’s obviously a risky start, but there’s some upside here due to the competence he showed in the preseason and his home matchup against the Falcons, who are No. 30 in QB aFPA. Consider this news a slight downgrade for the entire offense, though we weren’t expecting Newton to tear it up this week given his shoulder. John Paulsen watched Heinicke’s preseason throws and runs and came away fairly impressed. He showed some fast feet, threw a couple of darts downfield and his sole interception was not his fault.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee, groin) took full practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. Rodgers cited “leadership” as a reason that he’ll be out there against the Jets. It’s good news for Jamaal Williams and the rest of the Green Bay offense.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) took full practice reps again Friday. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 16. One of the most durable QBs in the league, Stafford should be able to play through the back injury again this week. He’s not a good start against the Vikings.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder, ankle) took limited practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go.

Texans QB Brandon Weeden (illness) returned to take full practice reps Friday after missing practice Thursday.

Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 16. Nick Foles will start again this week. He put up a measly 9.3 fantasy points last week against the Rams, but he returns home to face a Texans defense that is tough to run on but vulnerable against the pass, yielding 253/2 to Sam Darnold, 399/2 to Andrew Luck, 397/1 to Baker Mayfield and 303/2 to Marcus Mariota in recent weeks.

Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (hip) took full practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. Frank Gore is out for the remainder of the year, and it was Ballage—not Kenyan Drake—who took over as Miami’s primary runner last week against the Vikings, gaining 123 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He caught 64 passes in his final two seasons at Arizona State, so he’s a capable receiver as well. The matchup against the Jaguars isn’t great, though Jacksonville has yielded 160 yards rushing in six away games while giving up just 90 yards rushing in eight home games this season. Drake (shoulder) took full practice reps all week and will play on Sunday. But it doesn’t look like he’s going to lead this backfield in touches, even with Frank Gore out.

Lions RB Nick Bellore (ankle) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week.

Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (calf, questionable) took limited practice reps again Friday and is questionable for Week 16.

49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) took limited practice reps all week. Breida was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. Always a risk for re-injury, he’s an RB2 in a tough matchup against the Bears. He has averaged 13.9 touches per game in the 11 games in which he’s played more than 15% of the snaps.

Jets RB Trenton Cannon (toe) took full practice reps all week.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson (not injury related) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Rashaad Penny (knee, questionable) missed practice again Thursday and is questionable for Week 16. He looks like a game-time decision and is unlikely to play. Carson is good to go and should see a big workload if Penny is sidelined. He has averaged 25.0 touches for 133 total yards and 0.67 touchdowns in the three games that Penny has missed this season.

Steelers RB James Conner (ankle, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 16. Conner says that he’s still “not ready” to return from his high-ankle sprain. Jaylen Samuels is primed for another big workload.

Rams RB Justin Davis (shoulder, questionable) missed practice all week and is questionable for Week 16.

Bills RB Patrick DiMarco (ankle) took full practice reps again Friday.

Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (foot) took full practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. Fournette will be fine to face the Dolphins but given his limited Week 15 workload, he’s no longer a no-brainer fantasy RB1.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee, questionable) missed practice all week and is questionable for Week 16. Initially expected to play, per HC Todd McVay, Gurley is now a game-time decision for Sunday. Surprisingly, the beat writers are saying that it will be C.J. Anderson, not John Kelly, who would start if Gurley can’t play. Unless this is contradicted over the next 48 hours, Gurley owners should pick up Anderson as a Plan B in case Gurley can’t go. Anderson’s role is not solid, and he could easily cede to Kelly if things don’t go well at the start of the game. Gurley is still a strong start if he’s active and healthy enough to get most of his usual workload. Complicating matters, the Rams play late on Sunday so owners will need to be on their toes as the day wears on.

Bills RB Chris Ivory (shoulder, questionable) took full practice reps again Friday and is questionable for Week 16. Ivory is expected to play.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (not injury related) returned to take full practice reps Friday after missing practice Thursday. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) took full practice reps again Friday. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. McCoy will likely lead the backfield in touches, but he’s only averaging 64 total yards and hasn’t scored a touchdown in seven games with Josh Allen under center.

Jets RB Elijah McGuire (ankle, quadricep) took full practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. Last week, McGuire delivered to the tune of 71 total yards and a touchdown on 21 touches. This serves as a reminder that when we’re looking for production from strange places, just follow the volume. McGuire now has two straight games with 14.1 or more fantasy points and is primed for a third as the Packers limp into MetLife Stadium his week.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 16. Miller will probably be able to gut it out against the Eagles, though he may not see his usual workload.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (wrist, thigh) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week. Mixon will be fine to face the Browns, who have given up an average of 126 yards and 1.3 rush touchdowns per game.

Raiders RB Keith Smith (calf) took limited practice reps again Friday.

Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring, doubtful) took limited practice reps all week and is doubtful for Week 16. “Doubtful” almost always means “out” so owners who were hoping Damien Williams would see starter’s touches again this week can start him with confidence.

Packers RB Jamaal Williams (toe) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. He should see a major workload against the Jets. He’s a good plug-and-play option for owners in need of a starter this week.

Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) took full practice reps again Friday.

Jets WR Robby Anderson (ankle, back) took full practice reps all week. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. Anderson finished with 7-96-1 on 11 targets last week against the Texans. He’s a very good start again this week against a struggling Green Bay secondary.

Cowboys WR Tavon Austin (groin, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 16.

Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hip) returned to full practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday. He was removed from the injury report so he’s good to go. After catching a couple of touchdowns last week, consider him a fantasy WR2 against the Chiefs.

Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (foot) took full practice reps again Friday.

Giants WR Odell Beckham (quadricep, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 16. It’s good news for Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram, though the Colts defense has been much improved this year. Shepard hasn’t done much in the last two weeks with Beckham out.

Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (knee, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 16. Boyd is out, so the Bengals are down to Ross, Cody Core, Alex Erickson and Auden Tate at receiver. Ross has scored 9.1 or more fantasy points (PPR) in four of his last six games.

Jaguars WR D.J. Chark (quadricep, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 16.

Packers WR Randall Cobb (concussion, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 16. With Cobb likely out, Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling should see more work, though the Packers may turn to Jake Kumerow as well, to see what he can do.

Texans WR Keke Coutee (hamstring, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 16. If Coutee remains out, then Demaryius Thomas will be a Sneaky Start against the Eagles. Thomas had eight targets last week and 14 in the last two games. He posted 6-59 against the Jets and should be in for another nice PPR day against a banged up Philly secondary.

Giants WR Jawill Davis (hamstring) was limited Friday after taking full reps earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Darnold is coming off of 253/2 against the Texans, and he has at least 18.0 fantasy points in three of his last four home games. Throw in a budding rapport with Robby Anderson, and we have the makings of a solid fantasy outing.

Titans QB Marcus Mariota (foot) took full practice reps again Thursday. He’s good to go to face the Redskins on Saturday. Mariota has averaged 17.3 fantasy points in five home games, and his two bad games came against Baltimore and Jacksonville, two of the tougher defenses in the league. Washington is coming off of a good showing against the Jaguars, but that was against Cody Kessler. In the three previous games, Washington yielded 197/3 to Eli Manning, 306/2 to Carson Wentz and 289/2 to Dak Prescott.

Redskins QB Colt McCoy (fibula, out) missed practice again Thursday.

Falcons QB Cam Newton (right shoulder) was removed from the injury report Thursday. The Panthers have decided to shut Cam Newton down for the season. Taylor Heinicke will draw the start, but the Old Dominion product is largely an unknown from an NFL standpoint. In the preseason, he completed 24 of 36 passes for 323 yards (9.0 YPA) and two touchdowns against one interception. He also rushed five times for 23 yards and a score. That 7.2 pass-to-rush ratio would fall between Jameis Winston (6.9) and Blake Bortles (7.4) this year, so Heinicke can add points with his legs. He’s obviously a risky start, but there’s some upside here due to the competence he showed in the preseason and his home matchup against the Falcons, who are No. 30 in QB aFPA. Consider this news a slight downgrade for the entire offense, though we weren’t expecting Newton to tear it up this week given his shoulder.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee, groin) took full practice reps again Thursday. Rodgers cited “leadership” as a reason that he’ll be out there against the Jets. It’s good news for Jamaal Williams and the rest of the Green Bay offense.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) returned to full practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday. Roethlisberger should be fine for a tougher-than-it-looks road matchup against the Saints.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Stafford should be able to play through the back injury again this week. He’s not a good start against the Vikings.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder, ankle) took limited practice reps again Thursday.

Texans QB Brandon Weeden (illness) was added to the injury report Thursday after missing practice.

Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) missed practice again Thursday. Nick Foles is expected to start again this week. He put up a measly 9.3 fantasy points last week against the Rams, but he returns home to face a Texans defense that is tough to run on but vulnerable against the pass, yielding 253/2 to Sam Darnold, 399/2 to Andrew Luck, 397/1 to Baker Mayfield and 303/2 to Marcus Mariota in recent weeks.

Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (hip) took full practice reps again Thursday. Frank Gore is out for the remainder of the year, and it was Ballage—not Kenyan Drake—who took over as Miami’s primary runner last week against the Vikings, gaining 123 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He caught 64 passes in his final two seasons at Arizona State, so he’s a capable receiver as well. The matchup against the Jaguars isn’t great, though Jacksonville has yielded 160 yards rushing in six away games while giving up just 90 yards rushing in eight home games this season. Drake (shoulder) took full practice reps again Thursday. Drake will play, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to lead this backfield in touches, even with Frank Gore out.

Lions RB Nick Bellore (ankle) took limited practice reps again Thursday.

Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (calf) was added to the injury report Thursday after taking limited practice reps. Blount’s presence on the injury report enhances Zach Zenner’s Sneaky Start status. He’s worth a look for desperate owners.

49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) took limited practice reps Wednesday and Thursday. It appears that Breida may be able to play despite re-injuring his ankle again last week. If he’s out, Jeff Wilson should once again take the reins in the 49er backfield. In Week 13 against the Seahawks, he turned 23 touches into 134 total yards and with Breida out in Week 14 against the Broncos, he turned 24 touches into 96 yards. The Bears defense is formidable, but Chicago has yielded an average of 128 rushing yards in its last four games on the road this season. If Breida plays, it will likely be a timeshare with Breida in the lead role as long as he’s able to go.

Jets RB Trenton Cannon (toe) took full practice reps again Thursday.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson (not injury related) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Carson has averaged 25.0 touches for 133 total yards and 0.67 touchdowns in the three games that Rashaad Penny has missed this season. Rashaad Penny (knee) did not practice Wednesday and the Seahawks signed RB Bo Scarbrough this week, indicating that Penny won’t be ready for Week 16.

Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) missed practice again Thursday. Conner says that he’s still “not ready” to return from his high-ankle sprain. Jaylen Samuels looks to be in line to get another start.

Bills RB Patrick DiMarco (ankle) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (neck, doubtful) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday practice. Ekeler isn’t likely to play on Saturday, so Justin Jackson will back up Melvin Gordon in a tough matchup against the Ravens.

Titans RB David Fluellen (knee, out) missed practice Thursday after taking limited reps Wednesday.

Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (foot) took full practice reps again Thursday. Fournette should be fine to face the Dolphins but given his limited Week 15 workload, he’s no longer a no-brainer fantasy RB1.

Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) took full practice reps again Thursday. He’s good to go for Saturday’s tilt against the Ravens. It’s a tough matchup so Gordon is ranked lower than usual.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) did not practice Wednesday. He sat out Thursday as well. Justin Davis (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. HC Sean McVay said that he expects Gurley to play, but it’s no sure thing. The Rams play late on Sunday, so Gurley owners should pick up John Kelly if possible, since with Davis’s shoulder injury, Kelly is the most likely candidate to fill in for Gurley. C.J. Anderson was just signed but it’s doubtful that he’ll get up to speed quickly enough to play a big role in Week 16.

Bills RBs LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. McCoy will likely lead the backfield in touches, but he’s only averaging 64 total yards and hasn’t scored a touchdown in seven games with Josh Allen under center.

Jets RB Elijah McGuire (ankle, quadricep) took full practice reps again Thursday. Last week, McGuire delivered to the tune of 71 total yards and a touchdown on 21 touches. This serves as a reminder that when we’re looking for production from strange places, just follow the volume. McGuire now has two straight games with 14.1 or more fantasy points and is primed for a third as the Packers limp into MetLife Stadium his week.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Miller will probably be able to gut it out against the Eagles, though he may not see his usual workload.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (wrist, thigh) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Mixon should be fine to face the Browns, who have given up an average of 126 yards and 1.3 rush touchdowns per game.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee, groin) practiced fully Wednesday. Rodgers cited “leadership” as a reason that he’ll be out there against the Jets. It’s good news for Jamaal Williams and the rest of the Green Bay offense.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday. Roethlisberger should be fine for a tougher-than-it-looks road matchup against the Saints.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Stafford should be able to play through the back injury again this week. He’s not a good start against the Vikings.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder, ankle) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Tannehill should be fine to face the Jaguars.

Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not practice Wednesday. Nick Foles is expected to start again this week. He put up a measly 9.3 fantasy points last week against the Rams, but he returns home to face a Texans defense that is tough to run on but vulnerable against the pass, yielding 253/2 to Sam Darnold, 399/2 to Andrew Luck, 397/1 to Baker Mayfield and 303/2 to Marcus Mariota in recent weeks.

Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (hip) practiced fully Wednesday. Kenyan Drake (shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday. Frank Gore is out for the remainder of the year, and it was Ballage—not Drake—who took over as Miami’s primary runner last week against the Vikings, gaining 123 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He caught 64 passes in his final two seasons at Arizona State, so he’s a capable receiver as well. The matchup against the Jaguars isn’t great, though Jacksonville has yielded 160 yards rushing in six away games while giving up just 90 yards rushing in eight home games this season.

Lions RB Nick Bellore (ankle) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) took limited practice reps Wednesday. If he’s out, Jeff Wilson should once again take the reins in the 49er backfield. In Week 13 against the Seahawks, he turned 23 touches into 134 total yards and with Breida out in Week 14 against the Broncos, he turned 24 touches into 96 yards. The Bears defense is formidable, but Chicago has yielded an average of 128 rushing yards in its last four games on the road this season.

Jets RB Trenton Cannon (toe) practiced fully Wednesday.
