WEEK 10 GAME-BY-GAME FANTASY NOTES
ATL/IND: Over 100 yards and a touchdown in four of five games for
Drake London and two annoying scores for Tyler Allgeier. This might be
the most concentrated passing game in the league moving forward, and
that leaves Kyle Pitts as nothing more than a streamer, while I don’t
think there’s anything for Bijan Robinson managers to do but complain:
he’s still as good as it gets ... Jonathan Taylor posted his third
game since the beginning of last season with 30+ carries, 2+ targets,
and a touchdown (the rest of the NFL has two such games over that
stretch).
NYG/CHI: Tyrone Tracy ran for 51 more yards than Devin Singletary on
just six more carries. I’m not thrilled about starting any skill
position player on this team, but I think we know who the RB to play
is ... Caleb Williams is a decent real-life QB, but the skill set and
creativity work for us. He threw 10 times to his best receiver,
played recklessly at times, and ran for 64 yards, including the game-winning TD. Pretty? No. Effective for us? You bet.
BUF/MIA: The Bills had nothing going, and Josh Allen finished with 306
passing yards, 2 TDs, and 31 rushing yards. It was a brutal showing,
but it means nothing moving forward ... East Coast Christian McCaffrey
ran wild for the Dolphins: De’Von Achane 5+ catches in 3 straight and
a 20+ yard rush in four of his past five.
BAL/MIN: The TE position doesn’t matter in BAL, don’t overthink it.
It’s Lamar, Henry, and Flowers, that’s it ... Jalen Nailor goes nuts,
and Justin Jefferson is held under 50 receiving yards for the third
time in four J.J. McCarthy starts.
CLE/NYJ: Jerry Jeudy takes advantage of a secondary that no longer has
Sauce Gardner for his first top 30 finish at the position of the
season. If you’re curious, Stefon Diggs, Zay Flowers, and Drake London
are the next three WR1s to face the Jets ...Justin Fields had more
rush attempts (7) than completions (6), and there wasn’t a single Jet
with multiple catches. With Wilson under center, Breece Hall is a lock,
and that might be it. Garrett Wilson is talented, but there’s only
so much to be done.
NE/TB: TreVeyon Henderson had TD runs of 55 and 69 yards against the
Bucs. Rhamondre Stevenson has had one GAME this season with 55+
rushing yards ...
NO/CAR: Chris Olave gets the long TD (he’s going to get ALL of those
looks in this post-Shaheed world) to go along with a 30.8% target
share. Betting on the Saints isn’t comfortable, but this talent/role
combination is enough ... Rico Dowdle gets 18 of 21 RB carries, but
under 3.0 yards per carry is a reminder of just how impactful a bad
offense can be, even in a plus matchup.
JAX/HOU: Parker Washington was the top target, caught the TD pass, and
added a punt return score. Brian Thomas wasn’t active, so there’s
that, but I can’t imagine playing any Jag pass catcher with confidence
(though Washington should be rostered in all leagues at this point).
... Davis Mills channeled his inner Joe Flacco and got his two
reliable targets (Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz) 26 targets (59.1%
share). That’s all we can ask for, and the hope is that C.J. Stroud
executes in similar fashion.
ARI/SEA: Trey McBride is inevitable, and Jacoby Brissett has unlocked
him even further. He looks like 2024 Brock Bowers for the remainder of
the season, and that could mean he carries your team to a title... Not
exactly a clean way to score a bunch of points, but JSN is always
going to get there. Neither RB is remotely close to trustworthy in
anything but these completely one-sided game scripts. The Rashid
Shaheed debut wasn’t impactful, and Cooper Kupp had the splash play:
I’m plenty confident we see that flip sooner than later.
LAR/SF: The Rams got everyone home for you because that’s what they do.
Matthew Stafford has some MVP steam, and while I wouldn’t go that far,
I like the odds of him being a solid fantasy option the rest of the
way, a rarity for a pocket-locked QB ... It was good to see volume for
George Kittle, though the script got away from SF. He and Jauan
Jennings got there because of how the game went, but I generally think
one SF pass catcher can get home next to CMC on a weekly basis.
DET/WAS: Jahmyr Gibbs saw some limited usage in the pass game for a
little bit, but 3+ catches in three straight games is more than enough
if we are getting 15+ carries weekly. The Lions are in scoring
position whenever Gibbs is on the field, and that gives him a real
chance to lead the position in PPR scoring moving forward ... Deebo
has been filling, in title, the WR1 role in Washington, but if you
can’t out-earn Treylon Burks and Robbie Chosen in a meaningful way,
I’m not playing you in season-long or DFS. I’m not sold that there’s a
player on this roster that you should be playing.
PIT/LAC: DK Metcalf has a deep catch in only two games this season and
his 80-yard touchdown in Dublin against the Vikings has accounted for
15.9% of his receiving yards for the entire season ... Kimani Vidal
has more than a dozen carries in three games this season, and in those
three games, he’s averaging 112 rush yards per game with a TD in all
three.
