Fantasy Football Week 7 Injury Report: Maye Health Come Soon

The 2025 NFL Week 7 brought us a few injuries that will impact our fantasy teams. I will continue to update the injury tracker and post any updates as team reports come out. Be sure to bookmark the 4for4 2025 Injury Tracker for continuous weekly updates.
Jayden Daniels, QB Washington Commanders
Injury: Right Hamstring
Projected Timetable: TBD
Initial Thoughts:
Daniels suffered a right hamstring strain and was evenetually ruled out for the game after spending a good amount of time in the locker room being evaluated. He will be getting an MRI on Monday, but it was reported that he tried to go back into the game and initial reports seem to indicate that it does not sound too serious. Sometimes we hear that and wind up getting bad news, so I would prefer to rely on information revealed after Monday. Of note, the incident in question did not seem to be that significant regarding a hamstring strain, with some concern surrounding his knee given how much twisting occurred. I am waiting on NFL Pro to release footage of the game because there was a play several plays before the one circulating where he may have actually strained his hamstring.
Bryce Young, QB Carolina Panthers
Injury: Ankle Sprain
Projected Timetable: Week 9-11
Initial Thoughts:
Young was limping a good amount on his way into the locker room prior to being ruled out with the ankle sprain. He will be undergoing imaging tomorrow to determine extent of trauma but on average quarterbacks miss 2-3 weeks with a moderate ankle sprain. I expect Andy Dalton to start at least 1-2 weeks.
Justin Fields, QB New York Jets
Injury: Concussion Screening
Projected Timetable: Week 8-TBD
Initial Thoughts:
Fields cleared concussion screening but was shortly benched, presumably due to play instead of injury. I would expect him to suit up for Week 8 but trending towards him being the backup next week in favor of Tyrod Taylor.
Drake Maye, QB New England Patriots
Injury: Concussion
Projected Timetable: Week 8
Initial Thoughts:
Maye cleared concussion screening and was able to return to the field. Unless symptoms creep up on Monday, expect Maye to start Week 8.
Kendre Miller, RB New Orleans Saints
Injury: Knee
Projected Timetable: Week 9-12
Initial Thoughts:
The initial sense is that this is at least a moderate grade injury that will cost Miller weeks of playing time. The Saints have a Week 11 bye, but depending on severity it sounds like short term IR could still be a possibility. This is unfortunate for the young running back who was finally stacking a few good games together.
Brian Thomas Jr., WR Jacksonville Jaguars
Injury: Right Shoulder
Projected Timetable: Week 9-11
Initial Thoughts:
By video, the injury incident did not seem significant at all but he was clearly in a lot of pain. Notably, he dislocated his right shoulder in college and likely suffered a labral injury at that time, the same shoulder was flagged during the NFL combine as a potential future concern, and he aggravated this same shoulder in June during camp after landing hard directly onto it. Again, the mechanism was odd so maybe this is simply a temporary pain or slight instability issue that can clear up through the Jaguars Week 8 bye and allow him to suit up for Week 9. Keep an eye out for more intel soon.
Xavier Legette, WR Carolina Panthers
Injury: Ribs
Projected Timetable: Week 8-9
Initial Thoughts:
Thankfully, he was able to return to the game after missing just a few snaps due to pain after taking a hit directly to his ribs. These often swell and become more painful post-game, so monitor his practice status as the week goes on but I think he has a good chance to suit up Week 8.
Deebo Samuel, WR Washington Commanders
Injury: Heel Bruise
Projected Timetable: Week 8-9
Initial Thoughts:
Samuel has been playing admirably through a painful heel bruise, but it finally worsened to the point of costing him game time. The best thing for these heel injuries is rest, but recovery can be somewhat unpredictable. There is likely a chance he could return in Week 8 or 9, but keep an eye on his practice status.
Darren Waller, TE Miami Dolphins
Injury: Pectoral Strain
Projected Timetable: TBD
Initial Thoughts:
We are unsure on severity at this time but he was unable to return to the game, leading me to believe that this could be a similar situation as Mike Gesicki's pec injury. Unfortunately, I do think there is some risk here due to the injury and the state of the Dolphins currently that Waller elects to retire again. Time will tell, but sticking to the injury perspective on this one, I do expect him to miss at least several weeks.
Cole Kmet, TE Chicago Bears
Injury: Back
Projected Timetable: Week 9-12
Initial Thoughts:
Back injuries typically cost anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on tissue involved, particularly if there is any disc irritation. Either way, I expect him to miss at least one week after being deemed Doubtful prior to being ruled out of the game. Colston Loveland should get a chance to play more in Week 8.
