Puka Nacua posted 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns as a rare “league-winner” in his rookie season. His numbers did take a significant dip in the 12 games that Cooper Kupp was active. He averaged 8.6-108-0.40 on 11.6 targets per game in five games that Kupp missed. In the 12 games that Kupp played, Nacua averaged 5.2-79-0.33 on 8.4 targets per game. That’s the difference between elite, top-five type numbers and fringe WR1 production. If Kupp is healthy, Nacua’s WR7 ADP may be wishful thinking. Nacua has overall WR1 upside if Kupp were to miss any more time.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) will miss time, could go on IR

Rams head coach Sean McVay said that wide receiver Cooper Kupp and left guard Jonah Jackson are both set to miss extended time after suffering injuries in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals. Kupp hurt his ankle and Jackson aggravated a shoulder injury.

McVay also confirmed that safety John Johnson will miss multiple weeks with a shoulder injury. He called all three players candidates for injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact:

With Nacua already on IR, the Rams offense is taking another hit with the loss of Kupp. Robinson and Johnson could take over as the team's top two, but those of you in the dynasty community may be high on Whittington, who has drawn comparisons to Nacua. Any of the three are worth picking up, and could get significant time over the next month at least.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 @ Detroit Lions

After suffering a knee injury in camp, concerns started to mount around Puka Nacua. However, after logging full practices all week we can put those in the rear-view mirror for now. With the highest total game of the week and a pass funnel defense in Detroit, Nacua makes a no-brainer start as a clear WR1 this week.

We'll see if Nacua is able to improve off one of the best rookie seasons we've ever seen from a wide receiver and he'll be in a great spot to do it against Detroit. Start him with confidence this week.
