Brady Cook, officially, will be the Jets starting QB on Sunday. Adrian Martinez is No. 2.

Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields are both out, as expected.

Cook threw for 163 yards and two interceptions over 30 pass attempts in Week 14. We can safely leave him on waiver wires in all league sizes.

Raiders QB Geno Smith, dealing with a shoulder injury, is considered unlikely to start on Sunday, sources say. He won’t practice today.

That would put Kenny Pickett in line to start against the Eagles, his former team.

This is not a good spot-start situation for Pickett, on a Raiders offense that is one of the hardest to watch in the league. There are better SuperFlex options in Week 15.

Raiders QB Geno Smith left Sunday’s game against the Broncos with a shoulder injury and did not return.

Smith initially left the game with a hand injury but did return from that before the shoulder injury knocked him out for the rest of the game. Head coach Pete Carroll said Smith’s shoulder is “really locked up” but the good news is there doesn’t seem to be any damage to his shoulder. Kenny Pickett came on in relief of Smith and went 8/11 for 97 yards and a touchdown. We’ll monitor Smith this week as the Raiders prepare to travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in Week 15.

The Saints are releasing K Blake Grupe. Cade York has been signed to replace him.

The Saints also worked out Justin Tucker, who is off his 10-game suspension but ultimately went with York. Grupe has kicked for the Saints since 2023.

The Raiders followed up their loss to the Browns on Sunday afternoon by firing offensive coordinator Chip Kelly 11 games into his first season with the team.

Kelly’s work had been the subject of grumbling throughout the season, the story said. The Raiders rank near the bottom of the league in most offensive metrics, the story pointed out. A new coordinator may not drastically change the Raiders offense all that much, but fantasy owners of players like Jeanty and Bowers are hoping the team looks to get the ball in those players hands a little more for the rest of the season.

The post added that HC Kevin Stefanski said he will provide an update on Wednesday as it pertains to how the team is handling preparations for the Raiders. We all know by now it's tough for a player to clear protocol for the following week, so there is a pretty good chance Gabriel won't be able to play in Week 12. That means, Sanders would be in line to get his first start. Sanders should get a lot more reps this week to get him prepared for the Raiders, but it will be worth monitoring this week.

The Jets are making a quarterback change, benching Justin Fields in favor of veteran Tyrod Taylor, per source.

New York faces Baltimore in Week 12 and ranks last in the league in passing yards per game, after Fields again struggled in Week 11. The Jets have seemed tempted to make this change since before their bye week, and finally pull the trigger. Taylor should at least give some passing consistency to the offense vs. Fields, but he won't have his top target in Wilson to work with. Fantasy owners should at least keep an eye on guys like Metchie, Williams and Mitchell, who are all younger WRs who could emerge with fantasy value with Taylor under center. Rookie TE Mason Taylor could also see more quality targets.

Jets placed WR Garrett Wilson on injured reserve, and he now will be out a minimum of four games.
