Well, the waiver wire thirst for Texans receivers seems like a lost cause as it stands, as all three of Week 8's receivers will go back to desperation dart-throw territory if both of the vets return this weekend. Plug Collins back in as a solid WR2, even in a tough matchup, if he suits up.

LaFleur on if MarShawn Lloyd (IR-DTR) will be back anytime soon: "I wouldn't count on that, anytime soon."

Dontayvion Wicks won't practice today.

Looks like Wicks is in jeopardy of missing his second-straight game, while the injury bug won't be leaving Lloyd, who has hardly seen an NFL field since going in the third round of the 2024 Draft. Neither significantly impacts the rest of the Packers' fantasy options.

Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. is day to day with the bone bruise in his knee, but HC Raheem Morris told reporters that he feels “really good” about his QB for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.

The Falcons' offense has been quite the rollercoaster ride this season, and it could be another tough one against a good Patriots defense. Penix and Cousins can be left on benches this week, while Darnell Mooney is an interesting WR4 type regardless of who starts.

Bengals QB Joe Flacco is dealing with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder & his status is up in the air for Sunday vs the Bears, sources say.

Flacco left the loss to the #Jets, then came back late. Coach Zac Taylor called him day-to-day. Jake Browning is the backup.

We've seen a huge shift in offensive effectiveness since Flacco came to town, particularly as far as Ja'Marr Chase is concerned. Chase would still be a must-start with Browning at the helm, but it would be a sharp downgrade for Tee Higgins, Chase Brown, Noah Fant, and anyone else on fantasy rosters.

Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels had a good rehab session on Sunday and he's expected to practice tomorrow.

It's good news for both the Commanders and fantasy owners. The only setback is the Commanders play the Seahawks on Monday night. Hopefully we'll have a more solid feel for Daniels status before we get to the Sunday games, but so far the outlook seems to be pretty positive as far as Daniels playing in Week 9.

Adam Schefter thinks the Saints could move one of their WRs, and specifically named Rashid Shaheed.

The Steelers, Bills and Broncos look to be in the market for a WR and have made calls to other teams, according to Schefter. Shaheed is on the last year of his deal and so Schefter sees him as a guy teams are more interested in.

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco, who left Monday night’s win with a knee injury, is considered week-to-week with an MCL sprain, per sources.

The week to week tag suggest Pacheco could at least miss Week 9, which is a showdown against the Bills. Keep in mind, the Chiefs have a bye in Week 10. Hunt should get his normal workload but Smith could be an interesting add as he seems to be trending up, especially in the passing game, and it could result in more touches overall if Pacheco is out.

The future is now in New Orleans, with the Saints making rookie QB Tyler Shough their starter.

Spencer Rattler now heads to the bench, while the second-rounder moves to the forefront in a decision coach Kellen Moore informed them of today.

The stats say Shough was worse than Rattler last week against the Bucs after taking over, but the Saints are making the switch. With the Saints not going anywhere, it makes sense for the team to see what they have with their second round pick from this past spring. Reports out of camp from spring and summer from some who follow the team said the competition wasn't really close, and Rattler was the better option. Now the question becomes how does this decision affect some of the other weapons on the team. It's probably at least a slight downgrade until we see otherwise.

If J.J. McCarthy can't stay healthy, Max Brosmer will merit the next look.

McCarthy is expected to resume his role as the starter Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Brosmer will be his backup, the story said. The story also pointed out, together, they have thrown a total of 49 NFL passes and played 122 regular-season snaps. We keep hearing the Vikings are high on Brosmer, but he is an undrafted rookie after all. This week, with McCarthy expected to start, Brosmer appears to be an injury away from getting into the game with Wentz now out for the season. The Vikings will likely bring in another QB, but it's not impossible that Brosmer could be forced into action sooner than later.

A Packers teammate of quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to join up with him in Pittsburgh.

According to multiple reports, the Steelers will sign wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Valdes-Scantling worked out for the team on Monday.

Valdes-Scantling appeared in five games for the 49ers earlier this season and was released from their injured reserve list earlier this month, the story said. Of course, it's a reunion between QB Aaron Rodgers and MVS from their days with the Packers, and the Steelers are likely hoping there is still some chemistry.
