Running back Elijah Mitchell went on season-ending injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact:

Mitchell can only play this season if the 49ers reach an injury settlement with him and waive him from injured reserve, the story said. Mitchell has struggled to stay on the field but when he has played he's certainly impressed. Mason has had a good camp, according to reports and the team has praised his running style so he'll backup CMC. The team traded up to draft Guerendo, so there's a good chance he has a role this season as well.

SF RB Elijah Mitchell - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Minnesota Vikings

Elijah Mitchell gave way to Jordan Mason last week, but that could’ve been related to how little he’d practiced coming off an injury. Mitchell has been the guy in the past, when healthy, but Mason has looked good and Mitchell is rarely healthy. If Christian McCaffrey is out this weekend - far from a sure thing - then Mitchell becomes interesting. However, he’s too risky to put in fantasy lineups with Mason looming. Stash him if you have room, but look elsewhere this week.
