Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf did not play in Sunday’s victory over the Cardinals and there’s no guarantee he’ll be back for the Week 8 matchup with Cleveland.

Head coach Pete Carroll said during his weekly interview with Seattle Sports radio that the team will “see how it goes” with Metcalf during the week.

Metcalf is dealing with injuries to his hips and ribs. He was a limited participant in last Friday’s practice and was questionable for the game, the story said. If he's unable to go in Week 8, Bobo and Smith-Njigba would see a bump in fantasy value. Bobo played ahead of JSN in two-receiver sets and led the team in routes run in Week 7.

Rams’ RB Darrell Henderson Jr. will be promoted off the practice squad for Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. “Darrell came back in; he's a guy that's going to be up and active this week,” said Rams’ HC Sean McVay. “He's done a great job of being able to quickly re-acclimate himself back to a lot of the things that we've done; he's taking good care of himself in the meantime.”

This sounds like pretty awful news for those of us who rushed to the waiver wire to snatch up Zach Evans this week. McVay has been very giving to his RB1 in recent memory, but we have quite a logjam at the position now, particularly after this Henderson promotion. It's going to be difficult to start any of these options in Week 7.

Rams RB Kyren Williams is expected to miss multiple games but should be back, at the latest, after the Week 10 bye, per source. Williams suffered an ankle sprain on Sunday.

As Freeman and Gaskin are either freshly off the practice squad, or newly signed, the backfield should be all Zach Evans' for the short-term, making him one of the best adds if your waivers haven't run yet.

The Rams are adding another running back to help offset the injuries to Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers.

Los Angeles is signing Myles Gaskin off of the Vikings’ practice squad, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

It's been reported Evans will get the start in Week 7, assuming Williams is out with the ankle injury. Freeman was signed from the practice squad and will likely get work as well. The Rams have been busy building up their RBs, they also signed old friend Henderson today to the practice squad. Williams is expected to miss this week but Rivers could end up on IR and miss 4-5 weeks according to reports.

The Rams activated WR Cooper Kupp from injured reserve Saturday.

Kupp will play Sunday against the Eagles after missing the first four games of the season while on injured reserve with a lingering hamstring injury. Kupp immediately shoots into the top ten on our wide receiver board this week, giving the Rams two strong options with Puka Nacua having his strong start to his career. The Rams offense looks to have plenty of juice again.

WR Cooper Kupp is expected to play against the Eagles barring any setbacks, per sources. The Rams are being cautious, keeping him on a count at practice. I'm told he's felt good enough to extend for the football, even making a one-handed grab.

Kupp has been back at practice this week and figures to be playing a majority of snaps in Week 5. After how well Nacua has performed, we should still keep him on fantasy radars, while Atwell will be a very difficult player to start as the WR3 behind two target hogs.

WR Cooper Kupp is pushing to play against the Eagles. The Rams, of course, want to use Kupp on those deep over routes and will test it out to see if he can get close to max speed. The better news is I'm told the injury was not as serious (in terms of long term) as initially feared.

If the team is concerned about how he can run specific routes, this still feels early, but Kupp has surprised us before. It would be hard to keep him on the bench if he is active, but this will assuredly cut into Nacua's record-breaking pace as the best fantasy story of the young season.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell referred to Cam Akers, acquired Sept. 20 via trade from the Rams, as complementing starter Alexander Mattison, who still dominated the playing time and workload with 98 yards from scrimmage. But O'Connell envisions a role for both.

"Seeing how [Akers] complements Alex," O'Connell said after the game, "when those guys can both stay fresh and be maximizing their opportunities, it was exciting to see that [Sunday]. ... Cam is always going to have real firm, solid finish [to runs] just like Alex does, where yards after contact should be a good number for him."

In his Vikings debut, Akers was effective with 51 yards on seven touches, the story pointed out. He flashed acceleration and power, while benefiting from the season's best blocking and perhaps the lightest competition to date, the story added. Akers had a three-down role, taking every snap in a 10-play drive in the second quarter. But as the story also said, Mattison still controlled most of the playing time and since the trade has carried 37 times for 188 yards (5.08 YPC) in two games, vs. the first two games where he ran 19 times for 62 yards.

Geno Smith looked to be a bit limited upon returning and was moving gingerly on the knee. But he insists it's nothing major.

"I'm fine. I'm fine. God is good," he said.

Smith missed two drives late in the second half, one was a touchdown which was led by Lock. Smith returned in the second half. The Seahawks have a bye in Week 5 so Smith will have some extra time to rest up for Week 6.
