Brock Purdy aggravated the stinger injury he initially suffered against the Cardinals in Week 15. But Purdy said after the game that he’s expecting to be fine for the Week 17 game against Washington and head coach Kyle Shanahan reiterated the same on Tuesday.

“Just watching him, how he was that week [after the Cardinals game], and then just being able to hear how he was today and talk to him last night after the game, I think he’s going to be fine,” Shanahan said, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “I don’t think it’s going to bother him too [much].

Purdy completed 18-of-32 passes for 255 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions, working out to a career-worst 42.6 passer rating. In his most extended playing time of the season, Darnold finished the game 8-of-14 for 81 yards with a touchdown and a pick, the story said. The Niners travel to Washington in Week 17.

According to ESPN's Lisa Salters, Brock Purdy has a shoulder stinger and was cleared to return with the 49ers trailing 33-19. The injury against Baltimore is an aggravation of a stinger he suffered in San Francisco's Week 15 win over Arizona.

Darnold took over in the game, but it sounds like entering the game was more about Purdy's performance. One would assume Purdy will get the call in Week 17 as long as he's healthy. The Niners travel to take on the Commanders and it seems like it could be a "get-right" game for Purdy and the 49ers, but be sure to follow the injury reports this week.

Geno Smith doesn’t have a game status designation, suggesting that he’s good to go. Jamal, Frank and Dee have been ruled out tho. Everyone else is questionable.

Olave hasn't had the best connection with QB Derek Carr this season, but he still represents his best option when on the field, and should be considered a WR2 in Week 16. Even with their struggles, the sophomore wide receiver has averaged 14.4 half-PPR points per game over his last five.

Christian Watson (hamstring), Jayden Reed (toe), De’Vondre Campbell (neck), Darnell Savage (shoulder), and Elgton Jenkins (shoulder) are present but not practicing.

Emanuel Wilson designated to return off IR and is practicing. A.J. Dillon also practicing after missing Sunday.

We should expect the typical Packers RB split in Week 16, but Jones remains the higher-upside play here, and should be considered a low-end RB2, while Dillon is in FLEX considerations for deep leagues.

Smith's groin injury was expected to keep him out two weeks, so he looks to be on track to play in Week 16 - despite Lock's heroics on Monday night against the Eagles. Smith will get a favorable matchup against the Titans who were eliminated from the playoffs with their loss this past week.

For what it's worth: Geno Smith took far more throws and whatnot during early warmups before inactives were announced. But Drew Lock is doing the typical first-team work right now with the whole team out there. Took snaps from starting center Evan Brown.

While Smith is active, the team has yet to announce him as a starter as of about 40 minutes before game time. Given the rain falling prior to the game, Smith having a groin injury, and the information in Gustafson's post, this is potentially a tricky situation for Smith owners needing him tonight. Owners will want to follow the situation right up to game time.

Videos emerged everywhere of Smith warming up and just about all of them said he appeared to look normal. Rapoport reported this morning that Smith would have an uphill battle to be able to go tonight, but it looks like Smith will get the start. It's a great matchup against and Eagles defense that's been lit up in recent weeks by the Bills, 49ers and Cowboys.

Rapoport said there is a pretty good possibility that Lock makes the start against the Eagles on Monday night. Lock held his own against the 49ers last week, throwing for 269 yards, two TDs and two INTs, and does have a favorable matchup against an Eagles secondary that's been torched in recent weeks. We'll likely know more about Smith as the day goes on but as of now it looks like Lock could get the start.
