Seahawks WR DK Metcalf (MCL sprain) has been ruled out for Sunday.

Metcalf was sorely missed in Week 8, when no other receivers were able to step up outside of JSN going 6-69-0. Lockett, in particular, was a regrettable fantasy start, while Geno Smith had only 212 yards and zero touchdowns for the first time all season. Smith-Njigba is the only reliable part of the passing attack (along with Kenneth Walker) this week.

Mike Macdonald on @KIRONewsradio on DK Metcalf's (knee) potential return in Week 9: "Unfortunately it's still a little bit cloudy on what's going on on that front. I know he's trying like heck to get out there as soon as he can, but we're still taking it day by day."

Per Mike Macdonald, DK Metcalf won't practice for Seahawks today, but he's optimistic receiver will have a shot to practice tomorrow.

This is a tough matchup against the Rams' secondary, but there's also a chance for a shootout not that L.A.'s pass-catchers are back to health. JSN remains an interesting Flex play, while Lockett can't be trusted at this point.

The 2-6 Giants are not yet making a quarterback change.

Coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Tuesday that Daniel Jones remains the starting quarterback going forward.

The Giants host the Commanders on Sunday. The story mentioned that at some point, the Giants will likely bench Jones in order to avoid his $23 million injury guarantee for 2025. They’re apparently not at that point yet, the story added. The other options behind Jones are Lock and DeVito.

Now official: The Rams have activated Puka Nacua from injured reserve. Don’t expect him to play a normal snap count tonight, but another boost for L.A. nonetheless.

Signs point toward this being a heavy Cooper Kupp game, but it's obviously nice to see Nacua healthy enough to suit up. Keep Nacua on benches unless you're incredibly desperate, but things are looking up for the offense moving forward.

TheAthletic.com reports that the Rams have spoken to multiple teams about trading Cooper Kupp, who has been out since Week Two with an ankle injury.

Per the report, the Rams are looking for a second-round pick in return for the wideout and that they are open to pay some of Kupp’s remaining salary for the 2024 season as part of the deal, the story said. Kupp is expected to play Thursday night and that game could very week be a showcase for the veteran WR. There are several WR-needy teams at this point in the season and teams have been in contact with the Rams about Kupp, according to the story. The Rams have just two wins this season and Nacua has been designated to return from his injury. The team also has Atwell and Whittington who are still young but seem to be developing because of having to play the last several weeks.

Sean McVay said Cooper Kupp's workload for Thursday Night Football vs. Vikings is "to be determined."

The post went on to quote McVay, "That'll be something that as we're putting it together and really diving into it, we'll have a better feel for," McVay said. "But definitely excited to have him back." Kupp sounds like he could be a risky fantasy play this Thursday night, or, it could be coach-speak. The Rams sure could use Kupp back in the lineup but fantasy owners should probably be realistic about his fantasy potential - at least this week. The good news is the Rams will likely need to play catch-up against a good Vikiings offense on Thursday night. Johnson and Atwell led the way last week against the Raiders. Hopefully we'll get more indication about Kupp's usage for Week 8.

Brian Daboll reiterated what he said in his post-game presser yesterday: Daniel Jones is the starting QB for Giants "going forward" to Pittsburgh and MNF.

Daboll went on to say in the post that Jones gives Giants their best chance, and the issues were collective, not solely on Jones. Lock didn't do much better, so Jones gets at least one more chance against a tough Steelers defense in Week 8.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Sunday he expects WR Cooper Kupp to play Thursday against the Vikings.

Kupp has not played since spraining his ankle in Week 2. He was close to returning this week but was held out, perhaps due to the short week upcoming. He’ll be a nice welcomed back addition to the offense after catching 18 passes in the first two weeks of the season.

The Seahawks added RB Kenneth Walker III to the injury report with an illness.

Walker is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. Seattle plays in the early window Sunday so we’ll know by about 11:30 in the morning if Walker will be able to play. If not, it’ll be another opportunity for Zach Charbonnet to carry the load on offense.
