Team news: New England Patriots

Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson cleared concussion protocol Saturday and will play Sunday against the Jets.

Henderson was listed as questionable for Sunday but is good to go after practicing in full on Friday and officially being cleared Saturday. Even in a split with Rhamondre Stevenson, a healthy Henderson has shown the ability to create explosive plays. He gets a Jets defense that has been historically bad this season. Henderson totaled 93 yards and three touchdowns in Week 11 against the Jets. Henderson could be a league-winner this week.

WR Kayshon Boutte, WR Mack Hollins, OLB Harold Landry, LB Robert Spillane, DT Khyiris Tonga and LG Jared Wilson are all ruled out for Sunday, according to Mike Vrabel.

RB TreVeyon Henderson and WR Pop Douglas are questionable, per Vrabel.

This makes things tough for fantasy managers setting lineups ahead of Saturday's games, but it's doubtful we get more information prior to Sunday morning. As it stands, Henderson *should* be a great RB2 play against the Jets, but you have to hedge your bets a little bit if you're in a start/sit conundrum with one of the backs playing Saturday.

If Henderson ends up missing Week 17, Stevenson would be a great RB2 play in his stead.

Packers are listing RB Josh Jacobs and WR Christian Watson as questionable for Saturday night’s game in Chicago.

This is a great sign for Watson, considering how serious the injury looked immediately after the play. With how the Packers rotate all their receivers, Reed would still be in the fantasy conversation, even if Watson returns to the field. Watson himself might be a little more of a stay-away unless he's back to 100% earlier in the week; a "snap count" might be on the horizon for the deep threat.

If Jacobs does suit up, he'll be a must-start, but if he unexpectedly gets ruled out, Wilson will be a nice plug-in as an RB2 option.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Christian Watson is expected to practice today on a limited basis.

“He’s improving. We’ll just see how he’s feeling out there.”

LVN and Dontayvion Wicks also likely to go today in a limited fashion.

The other DNPs yesterday likely still out.

Wide receiver Christian Watson left the game after landing hard on his left side while trying to catch a deep pass from Jordan Love in the third quarter and he was ruled out with a chest injury a short time later. Watson was able to travel back to Green Bay with the team after being evaluated at a Denver hospital.

The story went on to say the specifics of that evaluation haven’t been shared, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Watson avoided a major injury. The story added it's not clear if that means Watson will be available for Saturday’s road game against the Bears and more information on that front should come from the team on Monday. The early week certainly won't help, but we'll monitor the injury report this week for updates.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said TE Darren Waller is possibly in play for activation after one week of practice.

"If there's not a setback, I'm feeling optimistic."

Waller has been a red zone machine in his 3+ games with Miami this season, turning all four of those such targets into touchdowns. He also has a 78-yard game mixed in there for good measure. He is a viable streaming option if he gets the all-clear ahead of Sunday

Packers LB Quay Walker and WR Matthew Golden are inactive today vs. the Lions; CB Keisean Nixon is active.

This locks Watson into a WR2 role with some great upside against the Lions defense. Doubs is more of a low-end WR3, but still worth fantasy consideration.

Speaking of Jayden Reed, the third-year wideout could return to practice on Wednesday after his two-and-a-half-month absence.

The story said HC Matt LaFleur was asked Monday if the Packers will open the 21-day practice windows for any players this week and the head coach flashed a massive smile while saying, “I sure as heck hope so.” According to the story, LaFleur added that the team will have a better idea about the availability of Reed, and running back Lloyd, over the next two days. The return of Reed could be a big deal for the Packers offense, especially after losing TE Tucker Kraft. The return of Reed would create a logjam of healthy WRs in Green Bay.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson and receiver Kayshon Boutte have each missed multiple games due to recent injuries. But after both were listed as limited on Tuesday’s injury report last week, Stevenson and Boutte are set to return to practice tomorrow.

“I would expect them to be out there Wednesday. And then, again, we’ll see, monitor how that goes,” head coach Mike Vrabel said in his Monday news conference. “To me, when you come back, it’s just about the volume and handling what their normal volume would be, can they, obviously, do their job up to what we expect and what they expect it to be, and being able to protect themselves out there.”

Stevenson has been out with a toe injury. He has not played since New England’s Week 8 victory over Cleveland. He’s rushed for 279 yards with three touchdowns and has caught 16 passes for 169 yards in eight games this season. Boutte is second on the team with 431 receiving yards on 23 catches and leads the team with five receiving touchdowns, the story said. The big story is will Stevenson's return cut into Henderson's workload. Henderson has shined as the team's RB1 as of late with Stevenson out of the lineup, so it remains to be seen how the workload is split.

The Patriots ruled out RB Rhamondre Stevenson, WR Kayshon Boutte, and TE Austin Hooper for Thursday night vs. the Jets.
