DeVonta Smith was the WR18 after a WR10 finish the year before. He was the WR15 and WR21 on a per-game basis in 2022 and 2023, respectively. His environment is largely unchanged, though the Eagles hired Kellen Moore to run the offense. Moore’s offenses have finished in the top half of the league in passing yardage in each of his five seasons as offensive coordinator, so perhaps Smith sees a bump from the 7.0 targets per game he garnered last year.

Moore: Eagles WR Jahan Dotson will be 'heavily involved'

Jahan Dotson has not been with the Eagles for very long, but he’s made a positive impression on the team’s offensive coordinator.

In his Monday press conference, Kellen Moore said the team was really excited to have the opportunity to add the third-year receiver.

Moore said, "...he’ll be certainly a nice aspect of this thing, and he’ll be heavily involved.”

Fantasy Impact:

Moore added via the story that Dotson will need to keep growing and learning offense, but then did add that he'll be heavily involved. So while it may take some time, the Eagles are at least saying they expect Dotson to be a big part of things. Moore is obviously a new offensive coordinator, but over the last several years, the Eagles WR3 hasn't been fantasy relevant, mostly because of having Brown and Smith and Goedert at TE. The team added Saquon Barkley at RB and he's also expected to be heavily involved in the passing game so there seem to be a lot of mouths to feed in this offense.

DeVonta Smith has settled in nicely as one of the league's premier second options at the wide receiver spot, working delightfully with A.J. Brown over the last two seasons. His Week 1 opponent is a Packers defense that ranked 23rd in aFPA to wide receivers a year ago, In what should be something of a shootout, it's safe to project Smith as a high-end WR2 in Week 1.
