Dead Weight Report: Week 4 Drop List

Drops aren’t the easiest to evaluate after only four games, especially with so many injuries to fantasy-relevant players, but they are a necessary evil to ensure we get the maximum output moving forward.

Here are my recommendations for some players to cut loose ahead of Week 5, or at least keep a short leash on as we roll on.

Editor's Note: Check out the Week 5 Waiver Wire Watch!

Calvin Ridley, WR - Titans

Through four contests, Calvin Ridley is the WR75 in half-PPR scoring on a per-game basis (4.8), and has 30 or fewer receiving yards in three of those four games. Tennessee is 31st in the NFL in passing yards and has just two passing touchdowns in 2025, which sits dead last.

Things are bleak for the 0-4 Titans, and Ridley is the type of player who will mess with your mind every week if you hang onto him. He’s 89% rostered in Yahoo leagues right now, but shouldn’t be after this week. You can certainly try to move Ridley, but sadly, that window has likely closed.

Nick Chubb, RB - Texans

The workload was there for Nick Chubb as he was averaging 13.0 touches per game in Weeks 1-3 (RB30), but he’s been fairly inefficient outside of one long touchdown run in Week 2. The team opened that Woody Marks toothpaste tube in a blowout win last week, and it will be hard to put it back after the rookie popped for 119 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.

It’s difficult to see a path to fantasy relevance moving forward for Chubb, and he’s droppable in favor of some of the emerging RB talent like Marks, Kenneth Gainwell, or Tyjae Spears.

Cooper Kupp, WR - Seahawks

Writing this is as painful as it likely is for you all to read, but we have to be honest with ourselves about Cooper Kupp’s fantasy value in 2025. Sam Darnold’s target distribution has been fairly widespread within the Seattle offense, with eight pass-catchers getting a taste in Week 5. Kupp has just one double-digit week in half-PPR scoring so far, and he’s the WR67 in per-game scoring, WR61 overall.

Kupp’s career average numbers are way down in this offense as he’s currently posting career lows in yards after the catch per reception (5.3), aDOT (6.6), and yards per route run (1.71). He does have more of a floor than some other struggling WRs, so if you’re cool with the 4.5-7.5 points per week Kupp brings, then hang on, but it may be cathartic to let him go.

Tank Bigsby, RB - Eagles

I have to assume that the 33% of Yahoo managers with Tank Bigsby on their rosters are leftovers from his Jaguar days or perhaps were waiting to see his usage as an Eagle. The RB saw zero offensive snaps for the second week in a row and was only involved on two kick returns as a special teams contributor.

Clear out a spot for a player who has some type of potential, as Bigsby is third on the depth chart with a fantasy floor made of straw and dry dirt.

Jonnu Smith, TE - Steelers

Speaking of a low floor, Jonnu Smith has averaged 3.5 targets per game over his last three contests, which translated to a line of just 9-56-0. The Steelers are on a bye this week, and it's just not worth hanging onto Smith through it, as there are other options out there like Brenton Strange and Theo Johnson.

Also Droppable: Darnell Mooney, Dylan Sampson, Kyle Williams, DeAndre Hopkins, Jeremy McNichols, Cam Ward
