Commanders coach Dan Quinn tells reporters that QB Jayden Daniels will practice on a limited basis, but WR Terry McLaurin won't.

If McLaurin misses, that would firmly entrench Deebo as a WR2 after he's received 25 opportunities (21 targets, 4 rushes) through three weeks. Even if McLaurin is able to suit up, he's more than likely a stay-away as this is pretty late in the week to be looking into other opinions for his quad.

Daniels is an obvious must-start if he's able to suit up.

Terry McLaurin will receive another opinion on his quad today, and he's received several -- including from Dr. Williams Meyers, the nation's expert in core muscle injuries. As of now, they believe it's a quad injury. But more tests coming, as his status is in doubt for Sunday.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin is getting additional opinions on the quad injury he suffered Sunday and his status for this week’s game at Atlanta is up in the air, per sources.

The Commanders could still be without QB Jaiden Daniels as well for Week 4 so this could be another hit to the offense. McLaurin could be looking at missing multiple weeks depending on the other opinions. Hopefully we learn more Wednesday but owners may want to prepare now. The Commanders are in Atlanta in Week 4 in what is an earlier Sunday game.

It sounds like Wednesday could be a day we hopefully get a better idea about Daniels' knee injury. The Commanders may feel they bought themselves more time after Mariota led them to a win over the Raiders in Week 3. The Commanders play an early Sunday game at the Falcons in Week 4 and then host the Chargers in Week 5.

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said that while Jayden Daniels had a good rehab session for his knee sprain, he won't practice until Friday at the earliest. Another sign that Marcus Mariota could very well be starting.

This definitely looks like a Mariota start, which could mean a run-heavy approach. This would make Jacory Croskey-Merrit an RB2 candidate while Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin are respective WR2 and WR3s.

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn confirmed today that quarterback Jayden Daniels is dealing with a knee injury that might keep him out this week.

“He did have an MRI, and he’s already begun his return to play process with us. He is truly day-to-day,” Quinn said of Daniels.

Quinn said it’s too soon to say whether Daniels can play at home against the Raiders on Sunday. But, he said he'd share more once the team is back at practice on Wednesday and the injury report comes out, the story said. As we stated earlier today, Daniels and the Commanders do play an early game on Sunday, so even if Daniels a game-time call, owners will have some time to adjust lineups.

DQ says Chris Rodriguez will "be back into the fold" but that he's good with Bill as a pass blocker: "We feel comfortable...We wouldn't have put him in if not."

It seems like Croskey-Merritt will be in line to get a big part of the workload with McNichols also factoring in. McNichols is also known as a good pass protector, so the Commanders seem comfortable with either back playing in passing situations. It remains to see how much Rodriguez is involved after being inactive for Weeks 1 and 2. The team also just signed Edmonds to the practice squad, but it looks like Rodriguez will at least see work as the team's RB3.
