2025 Draft note
Jacory Croskey-Merritt's stock is rising on the news that the Commanders are likely to trade away Brian Robinson. JCM rushed 11 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in the second preseason game. In 2023, at New Mexico, he rushed 189 times for 1,190 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2024, he only played one game at Arizona (due to an ineligibility issue stemming from his freshman year at Alabama State), but rushed for 106 yards on 13 carries in his sole game for the Wildcats. He then won the offensive MVP award in the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl (97 rushing yards, two touchdowns). He posted a 4.52 time in the 40-yard dash (71st percentile), a 61st percentile Speed Score, and a 95th percentile Burst Score at the Combine, per Player Profiler. The offseason drumbeat has been consistently positive. The Commanders do like Chris Rodriguez, who drew the start in the second preseason game, and Austin Ekeler is still considered to be a "key piece" of the offense, but JCM (a.k.a. "Bill") does have a path to lead back touches if Robinson is traded and he can outplay Rodriguez.
