Rams QB Matthew Stafford out for Week 12 with a concussion

The Rams are expected to give Perkins first-team reps this week, per Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. The tweet went on to say this would pave the way for a potential start given injuries to starter Stafford and Wolford (neck). This would be the first start for the former UDFA from Virginia.

Rams waived RB Darrell Henderson.

On one hand this is a bit of a surprise, while on the other hand the Rams season has been a hot mess. It looks like Akers slides back in as the team's RB1 while Williams should be the change of pace and passing down back. Henderson is 25 and should land with another team as an early-down option.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford is being evaluated for a concussion. Bryce Perkins is now in the game for the Rams.

It's been that kind of season for Stafford and the Rams. Stafford just came back from concussion protocol and is now right back in it. And with the Rams potentially heading to 3-7, it may be time to rest Stafford a bit. The odds of Cooper Kupp missing the rest of the season also just went way up.

Matthew Stafford is out practicing in at least a limited capacity today (this is a step in the protocol).

Stafford came down to a game-time call this past week but gave way to Wolford. It looks like Stafford is progressing toward playing in Week 11, but continue to monitor him in practice this week. He'll, of course, be without his top weapon in Cooper Kupp, who is on the IR after ankle surgery.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals and the injury will require surgery, head coach Sean McVay announced on Tuesday.

Kupp will be having tightrope surgery on Wednesday and the All-Pro WR will be placed on injured reserve, holding him out for at least four games, McVay added according to the story. While it's possible Kupp could return to this season, according to several other sources, with the Rams season fading fast there may be no reason to do that. It's a big loss for fantasy owners who were still getting fantasy production despite the Rams struggles on offense. TE Higbee could see a nice bump in production while at WR, Robinson, Jefferson and Skowronek could also see increases. It's a big hit for the already-struggling QB Matthew Stafford.

John Wolford spent a lot of time with the first-team offense throughout training camp while Stafford dealt with his ongoing elbow injury, and that could come in handy in Week 10 if he were to get the start. The offense hasn't been too great with Stafford at the helm, so a positive matchup with the Cardinals' defense wouldn't be all too shabby for Wolford's fantasy implications. He could be a 2QB-league option if a manager were desperate for a Stafford replacement.

Raiders also are placing WR Hunter Renfrow on injured reserve due to his oblique injury. So on the same day, both Renfrow and Darren Waller are being placed on IR, meaning they’re out at least four games each.

The team basically has no more excuses to avoid using Davante Adams in a hyperactive role, ala his 17 targets in Week 9. Mack Hollins has already been worked heavily into the offense, while Keelan Cole will almost assuredly have to be shoved into the WR3 role with what is now a barren WR depth chart. Hollins can be considered a Flex play, while Davante Adams has weekly upside to be the overall WR1 and Foster Moreau is a matchup-based streaming option at TE.

Kyren Williams is on the verge of returning to the Rams’ backfield on Sundays. Sean McVay told reporters Wednesday that he believes Williams could be active against the Cardinals this weekend, which would be his first game since injuring his ankle in Week 1.

“I think there’s a good chance he’ll be up this week,” McVay said.

It's looking like a crowded backfield for the Rams. It's possible the team eases Williams back into action, but if he's still on your wire it's worth adding an RB with some upside and taking a wait-and-see approach. As the story said, the Rams traded up to select Williams in the fifth round of the draft this year. He missed most of the summer with a broken foot before injuring his ankle in the season opener against the Bills.

Rodrigue went on to tweet that McVay said it is under the team's understanding that this happened in the game, but that team discovered symptoms when following up standard checks with Stafford earlier this week. Stafford only entered protocol Wednesday, per McVay, so his status for Week 10 is in question. If he can't go, Wolford would be under center and would, of course, be a downgrade for anyone involved in the passing game.
