Short on time setting your DFS lineups? These quick positional rankings cover the top skill players on both FanDuel and DraftKings for the week. I’ll publish the first look each Friday morning, then update by Sunday morning to reflect injury news from Friday practices and Saturday travel reports. Think of these rankings as a snapshot of how I see the slate shaping up, along with the players I expect to have exposure to in my own lineups.
FanDuel DFS Positional Picks
Quarterbacks
- Caleb Williams – Playing at home in a game with a tight spread and the highest total of the week. Williams has added points on the ground this season with 85 rushing yards.
- Dak Prescott – Playing for the favored team opposite Williams in the same game, put up 361 passing yards last week.
- Jayden Daniels (or Marcus Mariota) – Both Washington QBs add points through rushing; the Commanders are favored by 3.5 points at home. Injury uncertainty could lower ownership.
- Baker Mayfield – The Jets have allowed 30+ points in both games this season, and Mayfield has five passing touchdowns through two games.
- Daniel Jones – Looks revived in Indy and has three rushing touchdowns through two games.
Running Backs
- Jordan Mason – Should see a significant workload increase with Aaron Jones out, but still priced as a backup.
- Christian McCaffrey – Cheaper than Bijan on FanDuel, has 15 receptions through two games.
- Bijan Robinson –Carolina was last year’s worst rushing defense by a large margin, and they’re allowing the 8th-most rushing yards per game through two games this season.
- Jonathan Taylor – Put up 215 total yards against an excellent Denver defense last week while playing 93% of the team’s offensive snaps.
- Josh Jacobs – Has scored a TD in 11 straight games (including the playoffs), scores better on FanDuel with little receiving work.
- Bucky Irving – Tampa Bay could control this game on the ground if Tyrod Taylor struggles on the other side of the game.
- D’Andre Swift – Playing in the only game this week with a total over 50 points, he’s $700 cheaper than Javonte Williams in the same game on FanDuel.
- Javonte Williams – Also playing in the high total game this week, he’s scored three rushing touchdowns and added 8 receptions this season.
Wide Receivers
- CeeDee Lamb – Underpriced as the 4th-most expensive WR on FanDuel, has 110+ receiving yards in both games this year.
- Rome Odunze – Has scored all three receiving touchdowns for Chicago this season, only $100 more expensive than teammate DJ Moore.
- D.J. Moore – Cheaper than teammate Rome Odunze on FanDuel, playing in the high-total DAL/CHI game.
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba – Second in the league in both receptions and receiving yards this season, but still needs to find the end zone.
- Justin Jefferson – Carson Wentz could be an upgrade for Jefferson, playing a Bengals team that has allowed the 5th-most passing yards this season.
- Garrett Wilson – Tyrod Taylor is a capable backup and should be able to find Wilson. Tampa Bay allowed the most receptions in the league last season.
- Tetairoa McMillan – Put up 100 receiving yards in his second NFL game and is still priced too low on FanDuel.
- George Pickens – Could be overlooked in the DAL/CHI game, but is priced too cheap on FanDuel for the high total.
Tight Ends
- Trey McBride – Has 6+ receptions in both games this season, can be used as a mini-stack opposite Christian McCaffrey.
- Jake Ferguson – Drew 12 targets last week and is bargain-priced. Pairs well with either Dak Prescott or Caleb Williams.
- Tyler Warren – Limited in practice this week, but has put up 76+ receiving yards in his first two NFL games.
DraftKings DFS Positional Picks
Quarterbacks
- Caleb Williams – Number one QB on both sites, playing at home in a game with a tight spread and the highest total of the week.
- Carson Wentz – In the best position of the backup QBs making their first start this week. Only $4,000 on DraftKings, he’s not as relevant with FanDuel’s pricing.
- Dak Prescott – Favored QB playing opposite Caleb Williams in the standout game environment of the week.
- Jayden Daniels (or Marcus Mariota) – Mariota would be intriguing with DraftKings pricing, but Jayden Daniels would be worth the spend up at home against the Raiders.
- Daniel Jones – Has put up 25+ DraftKings points in each of his two starts for the Colts, too cheap on DraftKings at $5,400.
Running Backs
- Jordan Mason – The Vikings back-ups (Mason and QB Wentz) are too cheap for their roles playing at home against a poor Bengals defense.
- Bijan Robinson – Bijan is cheaper than McCaffrey on DraftKings (the reverse is true on FanDuel). Carolina was last year’s worst rushing defense by a large margin.
- Christian McCaffrey – Has totaled 15 receptions through two games, and could get Purdy back this weekend.
- Javonte Williams – In a potential shootout game, and has 20+ DraftKings points in each game this season. Added six receptions last week.
- D’Andre Swift – Same shootout environment as Javonte Williams and $500 cheaper in DraftKings pricing.
- Jonathan Taylor – The Titans are allowing the 4th-most rushing yards this season after allowing the 7th-most rushing yards last season.
- Bucky Irving – Tampa Bay could rely on the ground game if the Jets' offense doesn’t threaten to put up points behind Tyrod Taylor.
- Alvin Kamara – Gets a scoring boost on DraftKings with full PPR scoring. Put up 99 rushing yards and added six receptions last week.
Wide Receivers
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba – Second in the league in both receptions and receiving yards this season, and is only $6500 on DraftKings.
- Rome Odunze – Cheaper than DJ Moore on DraftKings (the reverse is true on FanDuel). Three touchdown receptions already this year.
- D.J. Moore – Part of the DAL/CHI potential shootout game environment, and should see less ownership than Odunze.
- Justin Jefferson – Carson Wentz should feed him the ball playing at home against a weak Bengals pass defense.
- CeeDee Lamb – Relatively more expensive on DraftKings than FanDuel, but still has the second-highest WR projection this week and is playing in a shootout game environment.
- Garrett Wilson – Playing against a pass funnel Tampa Bay defense, Tyrod Taylor should feed him the ball.
- Puka Nacua – Leads the NFL in receptions and ranks fourth in receiving yards, but draws a tough matchup against the Eagles.
- Keenan Allen – Not an ideal matchup against Denver, but Ladd McConkey could draw the more difficult defensive assignment. Gets a boost with full PPR scoring.
