Texans to sign a one-year deal with TE Dalton Schultz

The Texans are signing TE Dalton Schultz to a one-year deal worth up to $9 million. Schultz has 198 catches and 17 TDs over the past three seasons in Dallas. He’s still only 26.

Fantasy Impact:

So Schultz will remain in Texas and provide another option for the future 2nd-overall pick. The Texans have had intriguing names at the position over the years but never one that has consistently produced for fantasy. Hopefully Schultz changes that.

DAL TE Jake Ferguson - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Detroit Lions

Jake Ferguson saw eight targets for the fourth game in a row against the Dolphins last week. But his four receptions were his lowest in that span, and combined with his 45 yards he was only able to put up 6.5 Half-PPR points, good for TE24. Ferguson has been kept out of the end zone in each of his last three games and five of his last six.

Ferguson remains a safe TE1 option, though far from a spectacular one, thanks to his consistent usage. He is not likely to explode against the Lions this week, as tight ends have not enjoyed that much success against them all season. The Lions rank 10th in aFPA to tight ends in 2023.
