Fantasy Football Week 14 Recap: 26 Things You Need To Know
There are two things you want for your team heading into the fantasy football playoffs that begin after Week 14. You want your team to be healthy and available for the playoffs, and you want your best players to perform up to expectations.
Unless you have been scraping the bottom of the barrel at quarterback or tight end this year, your team largely came away unscathed with injuries this week. That’s a relief, and even the one huge name that left with an injury doesn’t appear to be serious. Regarding the best players performing up to expectations? Well, that’s a mixed bag in Week 14.
Before we get to the Week 14 Monday Night Football game with the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, let’s look at the good, the bad, and the injured from a wild Week 14 in the NFL.
Stud Players
Which players put up the best performances in Week 14?
Josh Allen put up over 325 combined passing and rushing yards, plus four total touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the wild come-from-behind win against Cincinnati in snowy Buffalo. Allen now overtakes Patrick Mahomes as the top overall quarterback in fantasy football after this masterful performance in Week 14.
Shedeur Sanders looked, at least for one day, like he belonged as a starting QB in the NFL. Now, it was against the Tennessee Titans, but Sanders produced 364 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, 29 rushing yards, and another rushing touchdown. Only an interception kept him from producing almost an identical score to Josh Allen. Sanders might be a name to stash away, as he has decent games against the Bears, Steelers, and Bengals still on the schedule.
Tony Pollard came out of absolute nowhere on the other side of the Sanders’ game to rush for 161 yards on 25 carries, and he added two rushing touchdowns. His 25 rush attempts were his most of the season, and his 161 yards are more than any TWO of his games from 2025 combined. This was an amazing game, but it probably came long after managers had benched him.
Blake Corum got some work early and then a lot of work in garbage time, so he was able to produce a huge fantasy score for the Los Angeles Rams. He rushed 12 times for 128 yards and two scores, including a beautiful 43-yard scamper at the end of the game.
Puka Nacua was the player the Rams targeted when they weren’t letting Blake Corum run the ball. Nacua continued his magical season with seven receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns. This was somehow his first 100-yard receiving game since September 28.
Michael Wilson was the beneficiary of Marvin Harrison Jr. being out again, and he certainly continued to capitalize. Wilson finished the game against the Rams with 16 targets, 11 receptions, 142 yards, and two touchdowns. In the three games Harrison has not played, Wilson has 49 targets and 36 receptions.
Mike Gesicki’s 17.6 half-PPR fantasy points on Sunday were about the same amount as his last six games combined. I wouldn’t necessarily trust this outcome, but Gesicki stepped up in a major way for Cincinnati when Tee Higgins was in and out of the lineup for a possible concussion. Gesicki tied Higgins for the most receptions on the team in that game.
Brock Bowers continues to put up big fantasy football days even when the rest of the offense around him is the football version of a moldy sock. Bowers scored another touchdown and now has three in his last two games. Bowers has either a touchdown or 55 yards in every game for the last month.
Dud Players
Which players disappointed fantasy managers the most in Week 14?
Baker Mayfield was supposed to lead a powerful offensive attack against the lowly Saints at home on Sunday. Instead, he completed less than half of his passes while throwing for 122 yards and a score, plus an interception. Reinforcements are on the way as Mike Evans might come back this week.
Kenneth Walker III finished with 3.3 fantasy points in a day where the Seahawks scored 27 points. The defense and Sam Darnold won the game on Sunday, so Walker was left to rush for just 29 yards on 10 carries, plus catch one pass for minus one yard.
Justin Jefferson now needs to be benched until the Minnesota Vikings can show that they are actively trying to get Jefferson the ball in games. He finished Sunday with just two catches for 11 yards. That’s now five straight games under 10 fantasy points, and he has bottomed out the last two weeks, combining for four receptions for 15 yards.
Mark Andrews just signed a new three-year contract extension, so I would have expected more than just one catch for nine yards in a game the Baltimore Ravens absolutely had to win. He did see five targets, but also now has two games in three weeks with fewer than two fantasy points.
Travis Kelce had his worst game of the 2025 season with one catch for eight yards on five targets. Like many of the Chiefs on Sunday night, Kelce suffered from a couple of bone-headed drops, but his struggles against Houston were emblematic of the entire team this season.
Thud Players
Which players can we shove off our fantasy rosters after Week 14?
Tua Tagovailoa plays on a team that just scored 34 points against the New York Jets, and yet Tagovailoa could only manage nine fantasy points. That’s now fewer than 12 fantasy points in four of the last five games, and he has one passing touchdown in his last three contests. How the Dolphins have six wins at this point of the season, I will never understand.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt is bottoming out now and finished Sunday with just seven carries for 32 empty rushing yards. JCM was the third-highest-scoring running back in that game and was almost passed by Zavier Scott. We will always have the summer of Bill, but for now, Croskey-Merritt needs to fall off your rosters.
Darnell Mooney was not given more work as Kirk Cousins and Raheem Morris said he would when Drake London got injured. Mooney had one catch for six yards in the Atlanta Falcons' pitiful showing against Seattle. Mooney now has just 12 receptions in his last seven games.
Evan Engram had an outlier game last week against the depleted Washington Commanders’ defense. In that game, Engram had six receptions for 79 yards. But on Sunday, Engram reversed and had just two catches for eight yards. This was the seventh game in his last eight with under 10 fantasy points.
Bad Blood Players
Which players’ injuries are worth monitoring after Week 14?
Daniel Jones is feared to have a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in a non-contact injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was always a risk to have him out there playing on a broken leg, and now his recovery will be much, much longer as he has surgery to repair it and then faces a long rehab.
Jayden Daniels’ comeback from a left elbow injury lasted all of about half a game. Daniels had 79 passing yards and 16 rushing yards with no scores before injuring the elbow again. With the Commanders now 3-10, don’t expect to see Jayden Daniels again this season. Playing him again this year would be egregious.
Geno Smith had multiple injuries entering the game on Sunday and left with a new one – a right shoulder injury that took him out of the game completely. With the Raiders completely out of contention, we have to wonder if Kenny Pickett takes over the rest of the season. We should know more about Smith’s shoulder injury early this week.
De'Von Achane exited in the second quarter of his game when he already had 17 fantasy points because he had a rib issue. The Dolphins were blowing out the Jets, and coach Mike McDaniel said Achane could have come back in in an emergency, so hopefully that means good news for his availability in the first round of the fantasy playoffs.
David Njoku caught one pass for one yard and one touchdown, but then injured his knee on the play. He went back and forth from the locker room and the medical tent, but never came back in the game. This looks like a role that’s going exclusively to Harold Fannin Jr. now.
Zach Ertz is feared to have a torn ACL, which means his season, and perhaps his career, is likely over. He caught one pass for 11 yards before exiting. This is the latest in a long string of injuries for Washington, and they should have confirmation about the diagnosis by Monday.
Darnell Washington’s head hit the ground at the end of a catch in the first quarter against Baltimore. He was helped to the locker room, where he was evaluated for a concussion and quickly ruled out. Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth will likely see more snaps and pass routes with Washington sidelined if it extends into Week 15.
