TE Pat Freiermuth expects higher usage in new Steelers offense

All of the tight ends should have opportunities to contribute in the passing game, but Pat Freiermuth has been the most consistent (and the most targeted) pass catcher of the group. After catching a career-low 32 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns last season while missing time with a hamstring injury, he expects to be targeted not only more frequently but also in different ways.

The article also mentions how perspective QB starter Russell Wilson carried the Broncos TE room to a 32nd-ranked finish in receptions (39) and yardage (362) last season. It remains to be seen how much fantasy upside the Steelers offense can provide with Wilson/Justin Fields at the helm.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Indianapolis Colts

The Pittsburgh passing attack is going to be tough to trust as long as Justin Fields is under center and Arthur Smith is calling plays. However, given the tight end landscape, Pat Freiermuth remains in the TE1 conversation even after a 4-33-0 week against the Chargers.

With the way things are looking this week at tight end, Freiermuth checks in at TE12 overall and a TE1 which makes him startable. That would move down a place if Sam LaPorta is good to go, but Freiermuth is no worse than a number of tight ends ahead of him in the rankings. It all comes down to who catches a touchdown that week. As the Colts are 29th against tight ends in aFPA, it's maybe not the worst bet!
