Yahoo! Week 15 $1 Million Baller and Cash Game Strategy

Whether you are playing in the biggest tournament of the week on Yahoo! or prefer to play in smaller GPPs, there are some general positional strategies that you can implement in any size tournament. These concepts include stacking, finding pivots off of popular players, and looking for leverage in other spots. While it’s important to implement these into your lineup-building approach, the foundation of any tournament lineup is a solid core, usually players that you would use in cash games.

Stacks to Target

QB Josh Allen, Bills ($34)

WR Stefon Diggs, Bills ($29)

WR Gabriel Davis, Bills ($12)

After passing for over 300 yards and rushing for over 100 in Week 14, Josh Allen will be one of the most popular players on the slate with Buffalo carrying an implied point total of over 27 points. Although Allen will be popular, his value cannot be understated as three quarterbacks on the slate have a higher salary and the QB1 is $6 more than the Bills signal-caller. Over the last six weeks, no team has thrown at a higher rate in neutral game script than Buffalo while the Panthers have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per pass attempt in the same span.

Like Allen, Stefon Diggs is a great value given his recent usage—according to 4for4’s Breakout Receiver Model, Diggs ranks seventh in expected fantasy points among all pass-catchers over his last three games but he has underperformed that expectation, suggesting a big bounce-back game on the horizon. Because Diggs hasn’t posted big numbers lately, his salary is moderate, behind three other wide receivers and $9 less than the top option.

The way to save within this offense is by adding Gabriel Davis, a top-five wide receiver value on 4for4. Emmanuel Sanders is out in Week 15 and with Sanders playing limited time in Week 14, Davis saw a season-high 83% snap share. Even before Sanders’s injury, though, Davis had been a valuable piece of the Bills offense, scoring in each of the last two games and averaging the second-most yards per route run in the league since Week 9.

QB Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins ($28)

WR DeVante Parker, Dolphins ($17)

A matchup with the Jets usually elicits high rostered rates for a passing game but the Dolphins may go somewhat overlooked with quarterbacks such as Allen, Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford in potential high-scoring games.

Miami isn’t thought of as an air-it-out team but they have been relatively pass-heavy all season and have thrown at the sixth-highest rate in neutral game script since Week 9. When adjusted for strength of schedule, New York ranks last in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks and 25th against wide receivers.

The latter will benefit DeVante Parker who had five targets coming off an injury in Week 13, but he played just 71% of snaps. With Jaylen Waddle out, Parker should see an uptick in snaps and targets, making him and his quarterback one of the better value combinations of the week.

With the fifth-highest total on the slate, DFS players are getting a massive discount in salary with this stack, relative to the high-end passers.

Contrarian Plays to Target

WR Freddie Swain, Seahawks ($10)

DK Metcalf was set up to be one of the better tournament plays of the week, but will now be among the most popular players on the slate with Tyler Lockett out. Opposite Metcalf, Freddie Swain should also see an uptick in usage. Along with Metcalf, many of the Rams offensive weapons will be among the most popular players on the slate, making Swain an ideal unique player to add to game stacks as Los Angeles ranks 29th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers.

WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Packers ($13)

Green Bay’s offense should be quite popular against the struggling Ravens but most of that attention will likely go to Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. One way to get unique exposure to the Packers offense is through Marquez Valdes-Scantling who carries a near-minimum salary but has seen some of the most high-value usage in recent games. Over the last month, MVS has averaged the third-most air yards in the league, posting an average target depth of 15 yards. Baltimore is vulnerable deep, allowing the third-highest QBR on passes of 20+ air yards with the second-most touchdowns allowed on such passes.

Cash Game Strategy

Some of the best passing games in the league highlight 4for4’s value report this week. While many of those featured quarterbacks and receivers—who should be prioritized,—carry high salaries, a slew of inactive players will open up a ton of affordable, high-floor players across the board.
