Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels is week to week; he said they're "hopeful" he can play Sunday but will be smart about his return.

The week to week tag usually means a player will miss some time, but that remains to be seen and the team seems to think there may at least be a chance Daniels can go. Keep in mind this game was flexed to a later Sunday contest so owners will likely need a backup plan if they were hoping to play Daniels, especially if he ends up being a game-time call. Mariota came into play when Daniels left and looked pretty good, but it was against the Panthers. Mariota went18-for-23 for 205 yards and two TDs. He also ran 11 times for 34 yards.

The good news is the initial tests on Sunday showed no fractures, but further tests today and possibly in the coming days will provide more clarity, the story went on to say. Daniels returned to the sidelines during the game and waved to fans, which seemed like good news. Other reports said Daniels was removed for precautionary reasons in a game that was well in control over the Panthers. We'll hopefully know more about the injury in the coming days, but rib injuries can be tricky. Mariota came in and did a nice job, and the Commanders host the Bears in Week 8 in a game that was moved to later in the day. In Week 9, they travel to play the Giants in an early Sunday game. Owners counting on Daniels this week may need a backup plan.

Daniels was taken for X-rays but his mother took to Twitter/X to share a positive update on her son. With the Commanders in complete control against Carolina, the Commanders likely opted to keep Daniels out for precautionary reasons. Washington was up 27-0 at halftime and, at the time of this writing, held a 40-7 lead in the fourth quarter. It sounds like Danieos should be fine for next week against No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.

In a follow-up tweet, Kuharsky mentioned that Burks may be heading to IR, so he can freely be dropped, even in Dynasty leagues.

From "Good Morning Football" Rapoport reports, indications are that Austin Ekeler is going to play on Sunday after logging a full practice on Thursday, while Brian Robinson has not practiced yet and looks to be a game-time call, as he was in Week 5.

Robinson casually had two touchdowns last week, but that would be hard to bank on again, considering they came on seven rush attempts (18 yards). If Robinson is out, or even limited, Ekeler is in a fantastic spot in what could end up being a massive shootout.

The 49ers have found a kicker to replace the injured Jake Moody.

Per multiple reports, San Francisco has signed Matthew Wright.

Wright, 28, had a short stint with San Francisco’s practice squad early last year, though he did not appear in a game.

Moody is dealing with an ankle injury and there is no word how long Moody could be out. Wright should be a decent kicking option for fantasy lineups given the overall potential of the Niners offense. San Francisco is at Seattle on Thursday night.

For the second straight day, Commanders RB Brian Robinson did not practice today due to a knee injury.
