Eagles RB Saquon Barkley was listed as DNP Monday with a knee injury.

This will be one to watch on a short week against the Giants. Barkley hasn't been much of a factor in the run game this season after going over 2,000 yards last year. He did catch a TD pass in Week 5's loss to the Broncos. We'll keep an eye on this one. If Barkley can't go on a short week, Dillon and Shipley will likely split the workload and Bigsby could be a factor as well.

Eagles DT Jalen Carter (shoulder) and TE Dallas Goedert (knee) are off the injury report and good to go Sunday vs. the Rams.

Calcaterra managed two targets and six yards in Goedert's steed, as the Eagles continue to squeeze the clock and limit Jalen Hurts' dropbacks. Goedert returns to his low-floor/moderate-ceiling TE2 designation.

Asked Eagles OC Kevin Patullo about the lack of designed QB runs and zone read keeps for Jalen Hurts. Said just haven’t gotten to or because of how they’re being defended.

“Don’t worry, they’re coming.”

Last season the Eagles offense took about four weeks to really get going, especially the passing game. So, it's possible the team hasn't shown all its cards yet on that side of the ball. Hurts threw for just over 100 yards, but he also just ran for 15 yards in Week 2 after running for 62 yards in Week 1.

With Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy reportedly out up to four weeks due to a sprained ankle, Carson Wentz becomes the next man up.

At some point over the next month, will undrafted rookie Max Brosmer become the next man in?

Brosmer, the only one of three backups throughout the offseason program and training camp to make it to the 53-man roster (Sam Howell and Brett Rypien are gone), played at the University of Minnesota last season.

The story added the Vikings love Brosmer, but he's currently not ready to take over the position. However, the Vikings could turn to him at some point if Wentz can't take advantage of his chances. The story also mentioned the team could make a move for another QB as well. A familiar name in Kirk Cousins was mentioned specifically in the story. This whole situation could be a very interesting one, especially if Wentz happens to struggle early.

The Eagles hope to get WR A.J Brown involved early and often against the Chiefs.

The Eagles wanted to get Brown involved early against the Cowboys, understandably, but the Cowboys did a nice job of removing him from plays and Jalen Hurts had to either go elsewhere with the ball or use his legs. Look for Brown to have a bounce back day Sunday.

Sources tell me Will Shipley does have a fractured rib and the move for Tank Bigsby is not only to add depth at the RB position but Bigsby can also help out on special teams including returning kicks...

Reports on Monday after the trade denied Shipley's rib injury was the reason for the deal, but it appears a fractured rib could cause him to miss time. This would better explain the trade for Bigsby. The Eagles did have a need for a kick returner however.

Trade: Jaguars are sending RB Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for 2026 fifth- and sixth-round picks, per sources.

For the Eagles, this seems like a bit of a surprise, but definitely adds some depth. Reports since the trade say Bigsby could be the Eagles kick returner. Shipley and Dillon each got three carries in Week 1 behind Barkley, but Bigsby seems like more of an upgrade for Dillon as both are more of between the tackles runners. For the Jaguars, many were waiting for one of Bigsby or Etienne to get moved, but after Etienne ran for 143 yards on 16 carries in Week 1, the Jags look to be comfortable giving Etienne the RB1 job. It's good news for Tuten owners, as the rookie now looks to be the team's RB2, and can probably be added in most leagues if he's on your wire.

The Jaguars depth chart says Travis Etienne or Tank Bigsby will be the team's RB1.

No one is surprised based on how the preseason has gone. It's anyone's guess as to how the team will use their top-two backs, but one would think Etienne is the safer play in PPR leagues given he'll likely be the main receiving back. Bigsby could be in line for the early down work, but this is a situation that will need to play out a few weeks before we have a better idea.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) said he’s playing Thursday night vs. the Cowboys.

Brown has been dealing with a hamstring injury and there were questions surrounding him being ready for Week 1. The Eagles haven't really played any of their bigger names in the preseason so there is good reason to believe the team was, and is, just being extra careful with their star WR. Brown appears good to go for Thursday night's game.

The Vikings signed quarterback Carson Wentz and traded quarterback Sam Howell to the Eagles.

The Vikings had worked out Wentz recently and have now added him to the roster. To make room, Howell was traded to an Eagles team that in search for a short-term backup to Jalen Hurts, as Tanner McKee is dealing with an injured finger and his status for the start of the season is unclear.

The move is also a sign of the confidence the Vikings have early on in rookie Max Brosmer as the potential backup to J.J. McCarthy. At the very least, he’ll stick around as the No. 3 after a solid preseason.

This is the third time in about a year and a half that Howell has been traded. He went from Washington to Seattle in March 2024 (after starting 17 games in 2023), then from Seattle to Minnesota back in April and now from Minnesota to Philadelphia.
