Browns QB Case Keenum will start in place of Baker Mayfield (torn left labrum) Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.

Mayfield's shoulder became an increasing issue after the labrum was confirmed to be completely torn and separated during Cleveland's Week 6 loss to the Cardinals. It is unknown how long Keenum will be the starter for the Browns but his matchup this week is far from ideal.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski said in his Tuesday press conference that Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry both have a chance to play against Denver.

It's good news for the Browns on the injury front - finally. The team will be without their top-two RBs, so having Beckham and Landry in the passing game will help their chances. Mayfield was reportedly limited in practice Tuesday, but even if Keenum has to start having Beckham and Landry will be a plus. Beckham injured his shoulder in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals. Landry was designated for return from injured reserve last week, but missed his fourth straight game with a knee injury on Sunday, the story said.

The Browns at this point do not fear Baker Mayfield’s left shoulder injury is season-ending or will require surgery immediately, per league source.

Trotter went on to say the Browns are still waiting on the second opinion. Mayfield's doctor is getting MRI scans today, according to the tweet, and his status is still to be determined for Thursday’s game vs. Denver. Mayfield has said it will be his decision to play, according to other reports, but it will likely still be the team's call in the end. Keenum would get the start of Mayfield doesn't play.

No team has been hit harder by injuries than the Cleveland Browns. The Browns had 20 players on their estimated Monday injury report in preparation for Thursday night's home game against the Denver Broncos. Among those players are quarterback Baker Mayfield, who underwent an MRI on his left shoulder the day after Cleveland's 37-14 home loss to Arizona.

Mayfield will exercise his collectively bargained right to a second opinion with a doctor of his choosing.

The second opinion will take place before coach Kevin Stefanski can say whether or not Mayfield or Keenum will start Thursday night's game, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. Obviously the short week comes at a bad time for the Browns with Mayfield and several of their key players on the injury report.

The Browns list Nick Chubb (calf) as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

It's not a good start to the week for the Browns who host the Broncos on Thursday night. Beckham and Mayfield were also listed as did not practice. This will be something to monitor as the week goes on. With Kareem Hunt already out, the loss of Chubb would force Johnson and Felton into the lineup, perhaps both in significant roles. If Mayfield can't go, Keenum would get the start at QB.

Lions RBs D'Andre Swift (groin) and Jamaal Williams (hip/illness) are questionable for Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Both played Week 5 and practiced on a limited basis this week. Look for both to play.

Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift was a limited participant in Thursday's practice session.

Swift logged a limited practice session for the second straight day. Swift has been dealing with the groin injury for the bulk of the season, and the Lions are wisely managing his practice workload to keep him healthy. He will likely be listed as questionable on tomorrow's final injury report but is fully expected to play this weekend. Swift is currently our 10th ranked running back for a plus matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

With Williams still out, St. Brown has a chance to emerge as the top WR for the Lions. He went for 7-65-0 last week. Hodge had one catch in Week 5 and Raymond had two TDs in Week 4 before vanishing in Week 5, collecting just two targets. TE T.J. Hockenson will likely remain QB Jared Goff's top target and RBs D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams could be more active as well in the passing game.

Lions WR Quintez Cephus suffered a broken collarbone Sunday, source said.

The Lions have been looking for WRs to step up this season and form chemistry with Jared Goff. It'll be an extended absence and potentially season-ending for Cephus, who has been a bright spot in Detroit's challenging start, the story said. The team is waiting for Williams to return while guys like St. Brown, Raymond, and Hodge, who caught a TD pass this past weekend, look to take over the top-three spots. Benson and Kennedy are also among the names on the depth chart.

Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) and RBs D'Andre Swift (groin) and Jamaal Williams (hip) are all questionable for Week 5 at the Minnesota Vikings.

The Lions could be without three of their best offensive players, as well as offensive tackle Penei Sewell. Tough times for Lions fans and fantasy players.
