The Chiefs are placing WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown on IR, and he will undergo surgery to repair his dislocated SC joint. After multiple imaging studies, it was determined that, although Hollywood felt better, his injury was not healing correctly. Without corrective surgery, he would risk a more serious long-term injury.

The surgery is scheduled for Monday with Dr. Peter Millett in Vail, CO, and the Chiefs will monitor his rehab progress throughout the season.

Looks like the coast is clear for rookie Worthy to try to repeat his Week 1 success. For as long as Brown is out, Worthy and Rice can be loaded up into weekly lineups.

Jahan Dotson has not been with the Eagles for very long, but he’s made a positive impression on the team’s offensive coordinator.

In his Monday press conference, Kellen Moore said the team was really excited to have the opportunity to add the third-year receiver.

Moore said, "...he’ll be certainly a nice aspect of this thing, and he’ll be heavily involved.”

Moore added via the story that Dotson will need to keep growing and learning offense, but then did add that he'll be heavily involved. So while it may take some time, the Eagles are at least saying they expect Dotson to be a big part of things. Moore is obviously a new offensive coordinator, but over the last several years, the Eagles WR3 hasn't been fantasy relevant, mostly because of having Brown and Smith and Goedert at TE. The team added Saquon Barkley at RB and he's also expected to be heavily involved in the passing game so there seem to be a lot of mouths to feed in this offense.

The Chiefs have placed RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the reserve/non-football illness list.

As the post points out, it's makes the addition of Perine all that more important to the Chiefs backfield. Reports say CEH is dealing with a mental health issue and he'll at least miss the first four games of the season. Perine could fall right in as the RB2 because of being a change of pace option as well as a passing down option. Steele likely stays as the team's RB3.

Hollywood Brown is out for Thursday's opening game, but could be back for Week 2, per Ian Rapoport.

He's almost to the four-week mark, according to Rapoport and can now at least laugh without pain, according to the post. It's no lock he's back for Week 2, and with the Chiefs seemingly fine with their young group of receivers, it's possible Brown is held out again for Week 2. The original timetable was up to six weeks. Rice and Worthy will likely be the Chiefs top-two receivers.

Mike Williams available in Week 1, Saleh says. Had a nice day in practice today, with 4/5 catches, per Saleh. So there you have it: Mike Williams will play vs SF.

If everyone is healthy, namely Aaron Rodgers, the Jets could be interesting in fantasy for the first time in decades. Williams could carve out a role as a fantasy WR3 with upside for more.

On a conference call, NFL’s Jeff Miller day they are closely monitoring the situation for Chiefs WR Rashee Rice, saying they’ll follow the legal developments.

My read: With his legal situation not yet settled, Rice remains eligible to begin play this season.

If no changes come soon in Rice's criminal case, there's a very good chance he is eligible through the entirety of the 2024 season. He is currently ranked as a back-end WR2 here at 4for4.

The Chiefs are signing veteran RB Samaje Perine to their active roster.

This impacts CEH far more than it would seem at first glance. Perine is a legitimate, reliable third-down option, and should be kept in mind for fantasy managers finishing up drafts this weekend.

The Chiefs are cutting Deneric Prince, per a league source.

The Chiefs will ride with Pacheco, CEH and Steele as their top-three RBs heading into the season. Steele's play was impressive enough that the team was able to cut Prince as a result.

Steele is certainly a name to watch. Pacheco seems like the only safe bet on the roster at RB at this point. Despite the team's use of CEH in the past, someone like Steele could continue the climb up the depth chart and be fantasy relevant. We put him as the team's RB3 at this point. As part of cuts today, the team did let go of Prince.
