49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that WR Deebo Samuel has a calf strain and will miss a few weeks. Another star injury for the Niners.

Related players: Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, Ronnie Bell, Chris Conley, Jacob Cowing, George Kittle

It's a big blow to the Niners offense, which is already without Christian McCaffrey for an extended time. There was no mention on whether or not Deebo could end up on IR. Aiyuk should take over as the team's WR1, but who takes over as the WR2 is the bigger question. Kittle is likely next up after Aiyuk, which then leaves Jennings, Bell, Conley and Cowing at WR. Jennings is probably the leading candidate, but probably won't be a safe play in typical leagues. Cowing is a rookie who has stood out over the spring and summer and has been returning kicks, so it's possible he earns a bigger role with Deebo out.

Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell says the team is hoping to have WR Jordan Addison.

Addison is still rehabbing his ankle injury. And the post went on to say Addison resides in the questionable territory right now, and it's all about what type of work he gets this week. The team still knows it needs him long term, the post went on to say. Others who follow the team say the Vikings will certainly be cautious with Addison. Nailor will likely continue to be a popular name on the waiver wire this week, and if he's still there in your league, is probably worth grabbing - even as a stash if Addison plays. Nailor had a 3-54-1 line last week

#Bears WRs Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are questionable for the #Texans game.

Allen hasn't practiced all week. Odunze was limited today.

Related Players: D.J. Moore, Tyler Scott, DeAndre Carter, Velus Jones

Reading the tea leaves, it seems as if Allen has a better chance at playing than Odunze but that isn't set in stone or anything. As it stands, treat Allen as a solid WR3 and try to keep Odunze on your bench. D.J. Moore is a must-start, even with Caleb Williams' poor Week 1 performance.

Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell says WR Jordan Addison is OUT for Sunday against the 49ers.

Related Players: Justin Jefferson, Jalen Nailor

Nailor should step into the WR2 role but it's not likely to be enough to light up fantasy radars. Jefferson could end up getting an even higher target share than we're used to.

Shane Steichen rules Julian Blackmon out versus Green Bay. Shane says he doesn't expect it to be a long term thing.

DeForest Buckner will be a game time decision - Shane optimistic he'll play. Adds Josh Downs will be a GTD also.

Matt Gay will kick.

Related Players: Alec Pierce, Adonai Mitchell

It's not a great matchup against a Packers team that looks to be starting Malik Willis, but Anthony Richardson once again proved that he's willing to throw bombs early and often. It'll be a coinflip as to whether Pierce or Mitchell is the one who will come down with a deep ball in Downs presumptive absence, but the correct guess could equate to a WR3 week. They are both extreme boom/bust options.

For the second straight day, Bears WRs Keenan Allen (heel) and Rome Odunze (knee) did not practice.

We'll keep an eye on this tomorrow for updates leading to Sunday.

Atlanta Falcons receiver Drake London darted over the middle, his arms away from his body, his hands corralling a seven-yard reception from quarterback Kirk Cousins early in the second quarter in Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The play marked London's third target and second catch of the game. Over the final 42 minutes Sunday, it proved to be his last of each.

"We didn't get the ball to Drake enough," Falcons coach Raheem Morris said after the game.

London was shadowed by Steeler CB Joey Porter Jr. and QB Kirk Cousins struggles both factored into London collecting just two passes. While it doesn't help owners now, the good news is things like this can often get corrected the following week, so the hope is the Falcons design some plays early on for London which hopefully gets the entire offense going.

All opposing defenses magnetically float toward Justin Jefferson, regardless of who is on the field with him, dictating one-on-one opportunities for teammates. Having players who can win in those instances is partially why the Vikings traded for T.J. Hockenson and drafted Jordan Addison. It’s also why Sunday might serve as an inflection point for third-year receiver Jalen Nailor.

Kevin O'Connell was quoted in the story saying, "But I’m going to tell (Nailor) to prepare as if he’s going to be playing a lot more snaps and a lot more … early down snaps. Because that’s why he’s here.” Addison's status is uncertain for Week 2. We reported Monday he's dealing with significant soreness, so it's possible he can't go. But even if he can, he'll likely be limited, meaning Nailor could have a more significant role. With Hockenson already out, and if Addison can't go, teams will likely turn their attention to Jefferson, which mean Nailor could be poised for a lot of snaps and targets. He's a name to consider if you've already found yourself lacking at the WR position.

Jordan Addison injured his other ankle.

Related players: Jalen Nailor, Brandon Powell

The injury is not the ankle that cost him a few weeks late in camp, per Kevin O'Connell. Addison will be evaluated again when the team returns to Minnesota, the post went on to say. Owners counting on Addison may want to start considering other options for Week 2. Nailor and Powell are up next on the depth chart at WR.

Raiders first-round pick TE Brock Bowers (foot) is off the injury report and set to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Chargers.

LT Kolton Miller (shoulder) is also good to go.

Related Players: Michael Mayer

Bowers has a bright future (and likely bright year) ahead of him, but it might be best to avoid this matchup if you have another option. With both teams looking to run the ball, it could be a clunker for the passing game
