Dead Weight Report: Week 12 Drop List

I'm a week early, but considering people already have Christmas decorations up, I think it's okay to talk Thanksgiving this week. The combination of this article and the holiday reminds me of the legendary late '70s/early '80s sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati. The majority of you likely weren’t around then, so enjoy this clip from one of their Thanksgiving episodes entitled “Turkeys Away”.

Here is this week’s list of players possibly weighing down your respective rosters as we head down the stretch.

Editor's Note: Check out the Week 12 Waiver Wire Watch

Garrett Wilson, WR - Jets

He's currently on IR with a knee injury and may return by the start of the fantasy playoffs in Week 15, but does it matter? The Jets are 2-8, and it doesn't make much sense to hurry Garrett Wilson back. If you need the roster space and don't have an IR slot available, it's probably safe to let Wilson go; there's just too much uncertainty.

Khalil Shakir, WR - Bills

I know those of you who have Khalil Shakir on your rosters are frustrated, because I'm unfortunately a member of that struggle club. The Buffalo WR does just enough to keep him in the starter conversation, then puts up a stinker, rinse and repeat. The end is now. Last week, without Keon Coleman or Dalton Kincaid on the field, Shakir had one catch for -3 yards. Eight Bills had more receiving yards than Shakir, and sure, Josh Allen pretty much did it all himself in the 44-32 win over the Bucs, but it's not looking good for Shakir. He's only eclipsed 69 yards once this season and has just three touchdowns through 10 contests. End the pain cycle now and trade him in for a WR trending in a positive direction.

Keenan Allen, WR - Chargers

It's been a rough four games for Keenan Allen, as he hasn't posted a double-digit output since Week 7 with zero trips to the end zone in that time frame. The Chargers are off this week, and upon return, four of their remaining opponents are ranked as No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) to WRs in 2025, with an average of 19.7 surrendered weekly to opposing WR corps.

Kimani Vidal, RB - Chargers

I don't mean to pick on the Chargers, but if the shoe fits. Kimani Vidal is coming off a game where he notched five carries for a mere 13 yards, and in Week 9 against a Tennessee team that yields 24.1 in half-PPR scoring per tilt, the sophomore had just 3.0. Vidal can't take all the blame here, as the Chargers offense clearly does not operate the same without Joe Alt. The team scores almost a full touchdown less without the tackle in the lineup, plus Omarion Hampton should return in Week 13 to starting duties. Like Allen, with Vidal off this week, now is a good time to send the rookie back to the waiver wire for the remainder of the season.

Rachaad White, RB - Buccaneers

The fruitfulness has not been there for Rachaaad White since Week 6, as he's averaged just 7.2 in half-PPR scoring over the last four contests. He was out-touched by Sean Tucker 21-12 last week and clearly outproduced, as Tucker had 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 19 attempts, with another 34 yards and a score on just two receptions, while White's 12 touches translated to just 62 total yards. Bucky Irving could return to the Buccaneers as early as Sunday night, and it's looking like Tucker, not White, will be the handcuff to roster.

Also Droppable: D.J. Moore, Keon Coleman, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Zach Ertz, Jonnu Smith, Emari Demercado
