Packers WR Davante Adams (hamstring, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 3. We've removed Adams from the rankings for now. His absence should benefit Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard and the other Green Bay pass-catchers from a playing time/targets standpoint, but they won't be able to benefit from the attention that Adams draws from the defense. It's a downgrade for Aaron Rodgers.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that WR Davante Adams is "probably doubtful" for Sunday night against the Saints but "we'll give him the rest of the week to see where he's at," according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Aaron Rodgers's favorite target may end up being Aaron Jones Sunday night. Rodgers also has Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to help the Packers move down the field, but neither has the same level of trust from Rodgers as Adams. Jones' fantasy stock would rise if Adams does sit out, while Lazard and MVS can expect a fair uptick in targets.

According to Matt Schneidman on Twitter, Green Bay Packers Davante Adams missed Thursday's practice.

Fantasy Impact:

Hopefully, they are just playing safe with their superstar wide receiver, as missing Adams for Week 3 would be a huge blow to an offense without a true number two wide receiver. Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling would move into two wide sets if Adams were to miss any time, with Tyler Ervin likely to see three-wide snaps ahead of Malik Turner. Only two of Ervin's snaps have come in the backfield all season. The Packers do play Sunday night, so the suggestion here is to get him into a flex spot with a late window backup until there is more clarity on this situation.

Head Coach Matt LaFleur announced the Packers plan to hold WR Davante Adams out of practice Wednesday as he recovers from a minor hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Speaking after Sunday's game, LaFleur appeared to downplay Adams's injury as minor and even suggested he could have gone back in the game if the score was closer. This suggests that holding Adams out of practice Wednesday is merely precautionary, although hamstring injuries can never be taken for granted.
