One of the most overlooked questions as the 2022 season approaches is whether and to what extent the elbow of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will remain properly functional.

“We’d lessened Matthew’s workload today,” coach Sean McVay told reporters on Monday. “Really when we look at it, we’ve got five weeks until September 8. He’s still feeling a little bit of pain, he could push through it. You guys have been out here, he’s been throwing and competing in team settings. Stafford didn’t throw at all in the offseason due to inflammation in the elbow, the story said. The story added eventually, he needed an injection and it’s been something to watch throughout the early days of camp. As of Saturday, Stafford said it’s all “coming along,” according to the story. This puts a bit of a damper on anyone who has already drafted Van Jefferson this summer, but McVay also stated that there is "definitely a chance" that he will be ready for the season-opener against the Bills. This may end up being the landing spot for Will Fuller, who still remains a free agent at this time.

The San Francisco 49ers will have Trey Lance as their starting quarterback for this season. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the 49ers will start Lance and try to trade Jimmy Garoppolo in the coming weeks.

"We have moved on to Trey (Lance), Shanahan said as the 49ers reported to camp Tuesday. "We think Jimmy would have been traded if the surgery didn't happen. He needed to do it, there's no ill will there at all. It's good to see that he is healthy, but now it's about seeing how all this will end up."

Shanahan said the team will always think about Garoppolo and they will work together to find the best thing for him. Garoppolo had offseason surgery on his shoulder, damaging any opportunity of the 49ers getting value for their starting quarterback this offseason, the story said. Not many teams are in need for a quarterback as camps opened across the league this week, nor does San Francisco have much leverage in trying to get high compensation for him the story added. San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan told 49ers reporter Tim Kawakami on his The Athletic podcast that he would "be surprised" if Jimmy Garoppolo is practicing with the 49ers at any point this offseason. He also mentioned that he didn't know if he would even see him anymore after tomorrow's physical day.

This all but confirms that Garoppolo will be out of the building sooner rather than later. This clearly opens the runway for Trey Lance, but also puts doubts on other "fringe" quarterbacks around the league. The Seahawks, Texans, Saints, and Commanders seem like the most likely candidates, in whatever order you would like to put them in.

Rams HC Sean McVay told reporters Tuesday that RB Kyren Williams broke his foot in practice last week and will be back sometime in the early portion of training camp.

This is bad news for the rookie as he looks to gain his...footing...in the Rams offense and with legit backs ahead of him on the depth chart. Williams is a dynasty add only for 2022.

The Green Bay Packers have traded WR Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for draft picks. Adams has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Raiders.

This is a left turn as Adams said he would not play on the franchise tag. Adams reunites with Derek Carr, his college teammate. Adams has shown his ability to produce regardless of QB. The Packers are now anemic at wideout.

The Green Bay Packers have placed their franchise tag on WR Davante Adams.

With Aaron Rodgers back in the fold, one would imagine the Packers try to sign Adams for however long they sign Rodgers. Arguably the best 1-2 combo on offense is back together in Green Bay.

The Green Bay Packers are reportedly re-signing QB Aaron Rodgers to a 4-year, $200 million deal with $153 million guaranteed.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will undergo shoulder surgery that will sideline him until this summer.

Whether Jimmy G is a 49er come summer is still to be determined, it gives Trey Lance an opportunity to work with the team's offensive players as the QB1 as long as Garoppolo is out.
