The Bengals let Irv Smith walk and signed Mike Gesicki to shore up the tight end room, but don’t count out Tanner Hudson. Last season, he led the team’s tight ends with 39 catches for 352 yards and a touchdown, and finished ninth among tight ends in yards per route run.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger suffered a fracture around the eye socket and septum and may require surgery. Coach Brian Daboll said Sunday that the rookie’s eye didn’t look good.

Fantasy Impact:

Sounds like a brutal, very uncomfortable injury for Bellinger, and the hopes are that he won't have to go under the knife. In terms of fantasy fallout, it's unlikely that another prominent pass-catcher will emerge from the tight end room, as Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson have combined for 11 targets on the season, though the latter has run 102 routes through seven games. It's probably best to ignore the situation for now and hope for a speedy recovery from Bellinger.
