49ers GM John Lynch “doesn’t think” WR Brandon Aiyuk will be cleared for Week 1, but no official timetable set for ACL/MCL comeback.

This comes as no surprise, as we hadn't expected him to return until sometime in mid-season. Aiyuk should be passed over until late in drafts until we get some sort of concrete timetable, which may hint that he doesn't become fantasy-viable until at least the second half of the season. Jennings and Pearsall remain great mid-round picks.

A report last week that Jauan Jennings wants to be traded if he does not receiver a contract extension from the 49ers was followed by one that said he planned to report to training camp on time despite those feelings. GM John Lynch confirmed that Jennings was at camp during the press conference and that the team expects he will be practicing while declining to say whether there were any contract talks going on.

The story later said that Lynch wouldn't comment on any kind of contract talks, but Jennings didn't ask to be traded. With Aiyuk expected to be out until October, or even November, there's a good chance Jennings at least starts the season as the team's WR1.

The talk around Aiyuk is more of a return in October, or even November, according to those who follow the team. That means guys like Jennings, Pearsall, Robinson and Cowing could have a chance to be big factors in the 49ers passing game to start the season. As long CMC is healthy, it's possible he and Kittle will soak up a lot of Purdy's targets as well, but there could be some WR sleepers on the Niners available later in drafts.

The 49ers and QB Brock Purdy agreed to terms on a five-year, $265 million contract extension.

Purdy gets $181M in total guarantees, including $165.05M in the first three new years of a deal that runs through 2030.

George Kittle, and now, Purdy have received huge extensions this offseason, locking in two ultra-important pieces of their offense. Purdy should continue to be considered a fringe QB1/2 for fantasy purposes.

49ers QB Brock Purdy is active, Bills WR Keon Coleman is inactive for Sunday Night Football.

Purdy was questionable but trended towards playing with a shoulder injury that caused him to miss last week. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers handle him, given the injury and the weather conditions.

Coleman was limited in practice all week with a wrist injury, so it seems the Bills are being cautious with their rookie.

49ers QB Brock Purdy will be listed as questionable for Sunday vs. the Bills, but he fully participated in practice -- a good sign he'll be ready to go.

DE Nick Bosa and LT Trent Williams are out.

Good sign for 49ers skill position players, but the Bills present a tough matchup for Purdy without Trent Williams manning the left side. He should remain benched on fantasy lineups in favor of a streamer with a better matchup.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy did some light throwing without issue Monday, coach Kyle Shanahan said.

Purdy, who missed Sunday’s game with right shoulder soreness, will rest Tuesday.

“We’ll see how it feels on Wednesday,” Shanahan said, via KNBR. “Hopefully, it responds better this week than it did last week with the rest.”

Purdy appeared to injure the shoulder when his hand hit the arm of Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon as he released a pass early in the fourth quarter in Week 11, the story said. The story added the 49ers, though, don’t know specifically when Purdy injured it as he not miss time in that game with the injury.
An MRI showed no damage but after experiencing soreness Purdy got a second MRI last week. The Niners will need Purdy in Week 13 when they travel to the Bills in a Sunday night game. Those counting on Purdy may need to have a backup plan in place this week.
