Lions RB Isiah Pacheco had back surgery, to miss significant time

Lions running back Isiah Pacheco started the season on injured reserve, and he won’t be on the field any time soon.

Pacheco had back surgery and is out for the foreseeable future, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said today.

“It’s gonna be a while. It’s gonna be a while. I really can’t — it’ll be a significant amount of time,” Campbell said of Pacheco’s recovery.

Ian Rapoport reported that Pacheco could be back in December, the story said. It's safe to say the Lions will be looking for RB help as the they want to be sure to keep Gibbs fresh and healthy this season. The story added Vaki struggled in pass protection on Sunday, and Campbell described him as “inconsistent.” Saylors did not get any offensive snaps. The Lions making a move for another back could have some fantasy impact, so be sure to follow the situation.

The Falcons are not ready to name a starting quarterback for Week 2.

Cooper Rush got bumped into the starting role after Tua Tagovailoa injured his oblique during practice last week and went 12-of-22 for 143 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 20-13 loss to the Steelers. Undrafted rookie Jack Strand was the only other available quarterback because Michael Penix was inactive and head coach Kevin Stefanski said that he never considered putting Strand in against Pittsburgh.

Ian Rapoport is reporting Tua is considered day to day with an oblique strain while also adding it might be too early for Penix to play recovering from his ACL injury.

Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee) day to day

While Raiders tight end Brock Bowers underwent a knee procedure last week, there appears to be a real possibility that he could play in Week 2.

Head coach Klint Kubiak told reporters on Monday that Bowers is characterized as day-to-day.

Fantasy Impact:

The Raiders will likely be smart with their top target, the story pointed out, but Via Sam Warren of TheAthletic.com, Kubiak added that Bowers is “working his tail off to get back out on the field,” and that it’s “really important to him to play as soon as possible.” There was a report that surfaced Sunday that Bowers has a real chance to play in Week 2. At this point we likely have to wait for practice reports later this week to get a better idea. The Raiders are at the Chargers in the later window of Sunday's games.

Panthers WR Jalen Coker (ankle) said he doesn’t expect to miss time.

Fantasy Impact:

Coker had a boot on his left foot in the locker room after the game, but the post said Coker commented, “Just rolled my ankle a little bit.” The post went on to say the injury happened in the first quarter and this boot is precautionary. It's good news Coker returned and put up big numbers, but it's still worth keeping an eye on as players tend to be optimistic about their status. Coker is going to be a huge waiver wire pickup this week in typical leagues. He had a line of 8-132-2 in Week 1.
