Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) 'should be good' for Week 8

Cardinals wide receiver Jalen Brooks announced on social media that he will undergo season-ending wrist surgery.

“Have to get an emergency surgery on my wrist,” Brooks wrote. “I don’t need phone calls . . . just prayers. I’ll be done for the season.”

Brooks, 26, played 64 percent of the team’s offensive snaps on Sunday and made one catch for 35 yards before his injury. The trade of Marvin Harrison opened up more potential playing time for Cardinals receivers but Brooks won't be a factor this year.

There won’t be a quarterback change in Las Vegas this week.

Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak opened his Monday press conference by saying that Kirk Cousins will be the team’s starter for their Week 8 game against the Jets.

The announcement came a day after Kubiak said the team is “thinking about everything to fix our problems” when asked about turning to Mendoza. The story added Kubiak said, “There is no controversy there. He’s playing at a very high level. The story said that Kubiak did say Mendoza is “going to play at some point,” but reiterated that Cousins is playing well and that the Raiders are “in the hunt” with a 3-4 record on the season.

Sean Payton on Jonah Coleman: "Like anything else, I think it’s something you earn and he’s done a good job of that.”

Payton added about Coleman: "He played well. The touches he had were explosive." This is looking like the dreaded three-headed monster at RB for the Broncos. Coleman did lead the way in touches for the Broncos, but Dobbins and Harvey had their share as well. Dobbins scored a rushing touchdown while Harvey had a big catch for a score. Harvey seems most likely to keep his job as a pass catcher and passing down back while Dobbins and Coleman could be more of a hot hand situation in terms of splitting carries. This will be a tough situation week to week for fantasy owners of any of these backs until we get some kind of clarity, but it's easy to see how Coleman seems to be trending up.
