Kadarius Toney was banged up late against the Cowboys and is dealing with an ankle problem that has his status for Sunday's game against the Rams in doubt. Still, he is proving he might be the scariest weapon on this offense, even when running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and receiver Kenny Golladay (knee) are healthy. The game plan is sure to feature him significantly more moving forward than early this season, when he was still getting up to speed.

The story went as far to say Toney "needs" to be a big part of the game plan going forward. However, as the story also said, Toney is banged up at the moment with an ankle injury so he may not suit up for Week 6. The same can be said for Shepard and Slayton as well. And, if Toney is a big part going forward when everyone is healthy, Shepard and Slayton likely move down a notch on the depth chart.

Joe Judge wouldn’t say Saquon Barkley has a sprained ankle (he does), but he said X-Rays came back “with better news than it could’ve been. A little bit of a sigh of relief.”

Vacchiano went on to say to no one’s surprise, Judge won’t put a timetable on Barkley’s return, but Vacchiano went on to estimate probably about 2-3 weeks. It's certainly good news, especially if you saw the highlights of the injury and Barkley's swollen ankle. Other reports say it's a low ankle sprain for Barkley. Look for Booker to eat up a big part of Barkley's workload.

A sigh of relief for sure, as it could have been worse. The injury does likely mean Barkley will miss next week's game against the Rams. Rapoport reports Barkley is going to work to only miss one week. If that’s the case, Barkley would return October 24 against the Panthers.

The man just cannot catch a break. He rolled up after a collision with WR Kadarius Toney, limped off the field and was carted off to the locker room. The broadcast showed the extreme swelling of his ankle. Very unfortunate for Barkley after working his way back from the ACL injury. Devontae Booker is in now for the Giants.

The Giants listed a large sum of players on their first injury report including Sterling Shepard (DNP - hamstring), Darius Slayton (NDP - hamstring), Saquon Barkley (LP - knee), and Kenny Golladay (LP - groin).

Shepard and Slayton were our Week 4 and may have a chance to play Week 5, but Barkley and Golladay should suit up.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley is questionable for Week 2 against Washington as he continues to ramp up from ACL surgery last fall.

Barkley played Week 1 and was largely ineffective against a strong Denver Broncos defense. WFT's defense presents a similar problem coming off a short week. Barkley is John Paulsen's RB21 this week.

“I don’t think this schedule is ideal for coming back from a major injury,” Saquon Barkley said about his Week 2 Thursday night game. “But that’s what it is. That’s the challenge I have to face.”

Barkley played 29 of 61 offensive snaps against the Broncos but was on pace for a heavier workload until sitting out most of the fourth quarter, after the score got out of hand. His longest gain on 11 touches – 10 carries and one catch – was a 5-yarder on the first play.

“My explosiveness, to me, is not a problem. It’s all still there,” Barkley said. “I didn’t really get myself an opportunity to break a long one, so I guess I couldn’t show that."

According to the story, Barkley woke up sore on Monday and that's why he's been listed as limited in practice this week. But, he's expected to start.

Leonard added in his tweet that Barkley is playing despite the limited tag. Booker will likely continue to get some work as the team tries to get Barkley up to full speed. It's a tough matchup against the Washington Football Team in Week 2 so maybe owners will need to temper expectations for Barkley. He's a risky play on a short week.

The Giants will take on Washington Thursday night. Barkley led the way in the backfield with a lackluster 10 carries for 26 yards. He added one catch for one yard as well. Barkley was a fantasy risky play knowing that he wouldn't be in for a full workload despite being cleared to play. A tough matchup on a short week will have fantasy owners wondering what to do in Week 2 as well as we await for rankings. Meanwhile it's not good news for Engram owners. Rudolph had just two catches for 8 yards.
