10 Fantasy Football Stash Candidates Ahead of Week 10

10 Stash Candidates Ahead of Week 10

At this point of the season, bench stashes are tougher to come by but are certainly advantageous if you can make them happen. With bye weeks in full swing and injuries plaguing rosters across the league, grabbing the right players can be a difference-maker in the weeks to come.

Clear out those benches (check out my Dead Weight Report on who to drop) and make room for this week’s crop of emerging fantasy assets.

Editor's Note: Check out the Week 10 Waiver Wire Watch!

Odell Beckham, WR - FA

FOX’s Jay Glazer announced an impending return for WR Odell Beckham on NFL Sunday, and several teams have been linked as interested, including Dallas and San Francisco, among others. He is coming off a torn ACL suffered during the Super Bowl, but if Beckham returns to form for the final month of the fantasy season, he has the ability to make a big difference for depleted rosters.

The 30-year-old is currently being stashed by just 24% of Yahoo managers, but that number should rise significantly with this week’s waiver run.

Dontrell Hilliard, RB - Titans

Derrick Henry is indeed still the king, but his backup is worthy of a stash as we reach the downhill part of the fantasy season. Dontrell Hilliard has carried the ball 12 times since the Titans’ bye in Week 6 and, even with Henry at full strength, has the potential to vulture a TD in a third-down situation.

Tennessee is leading the AFC South division and could give Henry a few more breathers down the stretch if they can position themselves for a legit playoff run. Plus, the Titans' schedule against the run is very juicy for the fantasy playoffs, as they get the Jaguars, Chargers, and Texans in Weeks 14-16, who rank 23rd, 31st, and 32nd in RB schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed, respectively this season.

Josh Reynolds, WR - Lions

Josh Reynolds put up double-digits in half-PPR scoring in four of seven contests this season and boasts 10 red zone targets (seventh) and seven within the 10-yard line (fourth). Some of that fantasy-friendly usage was without Amon-Ra St. Brown suited up, but Reynolds has become a reliable option for QB Jared Goff when healthy.

Reynolds did miss last week with a back injury but should return in Week 10. The sixth-year wideout gets a welcoming schedule in the contests ahead as a potential bye-week filler and is free in 82% of Yahoo leagues.

Michael Bandy, WR - Chargers

Both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams have been on the shelf with no exact timetable for return, and subsequently, Michael Bandy’s volume has grown with each outing. He saw just two targets in Week 6, followed by six the next week, and then in Week 9, after the Chargers bye, Bandy was thrown to eight times.

With eight teams on byes over the next two weeks, holes will need to be filled, and as long as Allen and/or Williams are sidelined, Bandy is an under-the-radar pickup. Most managers will be gunning for Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter, so swerving to the 24-year-old could pay off if he continues to be a part of the LA offense moving forward.

Zack Moss, RB - Colts

Most, if not all of you, are probably not ready for another ride on the Zack Moss hype train, and frankly, I’m not too interested in being the conductor. However, desperate times are upon us at the RB position, and we could see more from Moss in his new home in Indy in the coming weeks.

Jonathan Taylor is nursing a sprained ankle, and backup Deon Jackson sustained a knee injury in Week 9 but managed to return to the field, which could mean more work for Moss ahead if either of these RBs suffers a setback. Grabbing the former Bill as an end-of-the-bench stash isn’t the worst idea in larger formats, and he’s free in 96% of Yahoo leagues.

Kylin Hill, RB - Packers

It’s looking like the injury to Aaron Jones isn’t too serious, but his ankle issue is a reminder that Kyren Hill is possibly one play away from a seat at the fantasy table. Backup A.J. Dillon is not proving very efficient this season, and Hill returned last week from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 8 of 2021 to one carry for eight yards.

We’ll have to monitor Jones’ status as the week rolls on, but if he’s limited, there could be a sliver of a crack in the door for Hill, and the Packers need all the offensive help they can get.
