The move was to make room for Hilliard who was coming off a productive game in an ugly loss to the Texans. In three games Peterson ran 27 times for 82 yards and a TD. Ironically, he was coming off a 9-40-0 game where he averaged 4.4 YPC, his best in his three games with the Titans. But Hilliard in his first game of the season, ran 7 times for 35 yards and added eight catches for 47 yards.
TEN RB Dontrell Hilliard - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 17 vs. Miami Dolphins
Dontrell Hilliard surprisingly got the honorary "start" for the Titans last week in that he handled the first RB touches of the game, but he only totaled five carries for 20 yards and two receptions that combined to lose six yards after ceding a goal-line touchdown to projected starter D'Onta Foreman, who received nine carries of his own. It's Foreman who appears to have a firm grip on goal-line work, but the other roles in the Tennessee backfield are a bit of a guessing game with Hilliard and Jeremy McNichols mixing in enough to raise questions about his lead-back status. Even if Hilliard "starts" this week, he is only guaranteed a handful of touches splitting work with two other backs. The fact that he is not in line for short-yardage work takes him off the fantasy radar completely.
