Team news: Minnesota Vikings | Page 35

In the open part of Cardinals practice, QB Kyler Murray (hamstring) was working.

It was implied by reporters at practice that Murray looked completely normal and was operating without a hitch. Assuming he's good to go, he has top-five upside against the Rams in Week 10

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray listed as DNP Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

Related players: Colt McCoy

Murray is considered day-to-day, a source told Rapoport. Rapoport went on to say it's "not nothing. But not catastrophic." Today was just a walkthrough but this will be something to monitor this week. The Cardinals play a later afternoon game at the Rams so owners will need to be prepared. McCoy would be in line to start if Murray can't go.

FULL 49ers' injury summary:

No practice:
Arik Armstead (foot/ankle)
Samson Ebukam (quad/Achilles)

Limited:
Jason Verrett (knee)
Dre Greenlaw (calf)

Full:
Deebo Samuel
Jauan Jennings
Kyle Juszczyk
Colton McKivitz*
Azeez Al-Shaair*
Elijah Mitchell*

*No official designation (IR)

Good news for Deebo owners. Samuel missed Week 8 with a hamstring injury which led up to the team's bye in Week 9. The extra rest seems to have helped, and it appears Samuel should be good to go in Week 10.

Sean McVay said that Matthew Stafford went into the concussion protocol today.

Related players: John Wolford

Rodrigue went on to tweet that McVay said it is under the team's understanding that this happened in the game, but that team discovered symptoms when following up standard checks with Stafford earlier this week. Stafford only entered protocol Wednesday, per McVay, so his status for Week 10 is in question. If he can't go, Wolford would be under center and would, of course, be a downgrade for anyone involved in the passing game.

Packers practice report:

Aaron Jones, Christian Watson returned after not finished the game.

Aaron Rodgers not here.

Sammy Watkins, Eric Stokes, Shemar Jean-Charles, Krys Barnes, Rashan Gary, De’Vondre Campbell, David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Romeo Doubs also DNP

Related players: A.J. Dillon

Jones is looking like he'll have a good shot to play after not being able to finish the game in Week 9.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that tests came back negative on RB Aaron Jones' injured ankle.

Related players: A.J. Dillon, Kylin Hill

As the story went on to say, things are looking up for Jones, but his practice status this week will determine whether he plays against the Cowboys on Sunday. Dillon would assume the lead role if Jones can't play. Hill would possibly jump into a more significant role with Jones out. He's fresh off the IR and had one carry last week.

Tests on Packers’ RB Aaron Jones’ ankle today came back negative and, “(Jones) should be able to play this week.”

Related Players: A.J. Dillon, Kylin Hill

Jones played deep into the second half of Sunday's game before suffering his ankle injury, with A.J. Dillon carrying almost the whole role after he went down, including three carries and two targets over the game's final two drives. If Jones is limited in any way against the Cowboys next week, we can expect an uptick in usage for Dillon.

Trade! The Lions are sending TE T.J. Hockenson to the Vikings, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Related players: Brock Wright, Rashod Berry, James Mitchell, Irv Smith

Minnesota sends a 2023 second-round pick and 2024 third-round pick to Detroit for Hockenson, a 2023 fourth-round pick and a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick. Smith is expected to miss 8-10 weeks with an ankle injury, so Hockenson slides right in as the Vikings TE1. Wright should now become the Lions TE1. Hockenson will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Not practicing today for the 49ers:
* Deebo Samuel (hamstring)
* Kyle Juszczyk (finger)
* Dre Greenlaw (calf)
* Arik Armstead (foot/ankle)
* Jauan Jennings (hamstring)
* Samson Ebukam (Achilles tendinitis)

The Niners have a bye in Week 9 so Samuel's status is worth monitoring in case the team decides to rest him for a couple of weeks.
