Vikings K Will Reichard, one of the NFL's best, is headed to IR.

The Vikings are signing Romo, the post went on to say. Romo is a former undrafted free agent with the Saints. The post added Romo was with Minnesota this offseason and will now make his debut.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes injured his ankle while throwing a touchdown pass on Monday night, but he stayed in the game and said afterward that he’s fine.

“Definitely scary,” Mahomes said. “I think it hurt more, just because it’s the same ankle I rolled last week, so it scared me a little bit, but once I took a breath and calmed down a little bit, it ended up not being too bad. We went in there, got a re-spat and went back on the football field.”

Mahomes said he had to argue with both the trainers and coach Andy Reid to assure them he was fine, the story said. Mahomes added he wanted to jog off the field but wasn't allowed. It was a scary moment for fantasy owners who saw Mahomes throw for three TDs in the game. And, his stock seems to be on the rise with the addition of WR DeAndre Hopkins. Mahomes seems like he'll be good to go, but if anything, this is maybe a reminder for Mahomes' owners to back him up on rosters by adding Wentz, especially in deeper, two QB or superflex leagues.

49ers expecting to get WR Jauan Jennings (hip) back after the bye, per Kyle Shanahan.

The Niners should be as close to full strength on offense as they'll ever be this year, only missing Brandon Aiyuk. Jennings should slide into the team's WR2 role as the Niners are expecting Deebo Samuel back as well. Factor in the return of Christian McCaffrey and San Francisco will be poised for a run in the second half of the season. The returning weapons should also boost QB Brock Purdy's fantasy value as well.

49ers plan to open Christian McCaffrey IR window next Monday.

Reports say CMC is really planning to ramp up in order to be back for their Week 10 match at Tampa Bay. The bye week is certainly hitting at the right time and the team will be looking to see if he responds well to this week's hard work to simulate practice, the post added.

Ian Rapoport is reporting the 49ers are still targeting Week 10 for RB Christian McCaffrey's return.

The Niners have a bye in Week 9 and we reported last week it was looking positive for CMC to return to the field for Week 10, which is an early Sunday game at the Buccaneers. Rapoport has said CMC has been ramping up and so far there have been no setbacks, and that continues to be a target date. It's possible CMC is heavily involved in the pass game with all the injuries to the Niners WRs up to this point.

John Lynch on KNBR said Jauan Jennings is doubtful with his groin injury this week.

Related Players: Deebo Samuel, Ricky Pearsall, Jacob Cowing, George Kittle

If Deebo is good to go, we can assume the 49ers will be heavily targeting himself and Kittle this week in a good matchup. This makes both huge assets to fantasy squads, and rookie Ricky Pearsall is an interesting deep-league play in his second career game.

Vikings downgraded TE T.J. Hockenson to out for tonight’s game against the Rams. Hockenson’s return from a major knee injury 10 months ago now will wait.

Vikings officially will activate Hockenson on Friday and the plan is for him to play next week vs. the Colts, per source.

Just one more week until we can fire Hock back into lineups as a TE1.

Vikings RB Aaron Jones does not have an injury designation for TNF against the Rams. That's big.

Related Players: Ty Chandler

This is a good-to-great matchup for Jones, and he should be considered an RB1 heading into Thursday Night Football.

The Vikings are officially listing TE T.J. Hockenson as questionable for tomorrow's game against the Rams.

It's a great sign for Hockenson and the Vikings offense, but exercise caution in his first game back. If he plays, it could very well be on a limited basis.

According to multiple reports, Deebo Samuel has been discharged from the hospital. Samuel left Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs with an illness and went to the hospital later that night.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Samuel had fluid in his lungs and described his condition as pneumonia. Shanahan said that the team will see how Samuel recovers over the coming days, but owners should probably have other plans in place, especially because the Niners are at home against the Cowboys on Sunday night.
