Murray is expected to have an MRI but owners should expect to be without him for the rest of the season. McCoy has flashed filling in for Murray at times this season, despite some struggles against the Patriots. Most importantly, DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown shouldn't lose a ton of fantasy value with McCoy under center. The team is likely to lean on James Conner at RB. The Cards don't have great matchups, though, traveling to Denver this week, hosting the Bucs, before traveling to Atlanta in Week 17 and San Francisco in Week 18. Perhaps the bigger question at this point will be Murray's timeline for the 2023 season.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was carted off the field on Monday night against the New England Patriots after suffering a knee injury.

It was a non-contact injury, and he was transported off the field with a towel covering his head. Colt McCoy will replace him and it doesn't look like that will change for the rest of the season.

The Cards eluded to Murray not starting on Monday night because of a banged up offensive line, which in turn left McCoy injured and unable to finish the game. Now it looks like Murray will be good to go in Week 12. The Cards host the Chargers in a late afternoon game, but Murray owners probably still need a backup plan just in case.

Kyler Murray‘s balky hamstring has progressed “quite a bit,” Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday.

Murray has missed two games since tweaking his hamstring in the Nov. 6 game against the Seahawks. Kingsbury said the Cardinals having “four of those [offensive] linemen down” for Monday night’s game ultimately made the decision to sit Murray another week, according to the story. That could also be why McCoy is now "banged up a little bit," the story added.

For the second straight week, Colt McCoy appears set to start for the Cardinals. With QB Kyler Murray still dealing with a hamstring injury and limited all week, McCoy is good to go. The veteran hopes to replicate last week when he was 26 of 36 for 238 with a TD.

Hopefully, if you stuck Kyler Murray in your lineup for the Week 11 slate, you're able to go snag McCoy off of waiver wires. Jimmy Garoppolo is, of course, a perfectly fine replacement as opposed to taking a zero if you're able to grab him. McCoy doesn't offer the type of upside that Murray does, but you could do worse than QB2-type numbers as a last-minute fill-in.

Potentially important: The Cardinals opened the practice window for WR Marquise Brown and he could play on Monday night.

Brown has had been dealing with a small broken bone in his foot. It would be a real nice boost for the Cards offense which just recently added DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension. As we reported earlier today, Kyler Murray may miss more time with his hamstring injury, meaning Colt McCoy could get the start. McCoy wasn't bad last week, so this would also be a nice boost for McCoy if he's under center. Keep in mind, this is a Monday night game so owners will need to have a backup plan if they're hoping to play Brown.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler first reported the news. If accurate, McCoy would get the start if Murray is out. McCoy wasn't bad last week, throwing for a TD and 238 yards. It was nice to see Hopkins (10-98-0) and Moore (9-94-0) continue to get targeted with Murray out of the lineup. Murray owners should have a backup plan as the Cards host the 49ers on Monday night in Week 11.

Cardinals TE Zach Ertz has suffered a season-ending knee injury. A brutal reality for Arizona and its veteran.

Ertz has had a very real resurgence since arriving in Arizona one year ago, so this is sad to see. Trey McBride is a rookie receiving specialist who won the John Mackey Award —the collegiate tight end of the year— at Colorado State in 2021 but has only four receptions on the season. He and Stephen Anderson will split receiving work, with McBride being the only feasible fantasy option.

Cardinals have informed RB Eno Benjamin - who started for them when James Conner was hurt this season - that they are releasing him.

Benjamin was on the field for exactly one offensive snap in Week 10 after converting his one target in 15 yards the week prior. Rookie sixth-rounder Keaontay Ingram has hardly been used any more than that, but he will operate as the immediate Conner backup for now.
